It is very messy to drop the pan to remove the transmission fluid. I use a fluid evacuator to suction the transmission fluid out through the dipstick tube, then drop the pan, clean out any sludge, clean the magnet, and replace the filter. Check the torque specs when tightening the pan bolts. Very easy to strip the threads in the soft aluminum case if overtightend. Not a big fan of Amsoil products, but I did change to their transmission fluid after a couple friends with heavy duty trucks with transmission fluid temperature gages reported lower operating temperatures with Amsoil when towing and plowing snow.
