If the fluid is black and smells burnt, sorry to say it but most likely the clutches are going out. That is a common problem with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions. It might've leaked enough to the point of getting too low and burn the clutches. Sadly, transmission repairs are not cheap. The good...
  2. Power steering problem.

I have a new question, I've been trying to find information on this but can't find much about it. When the car is stopped or at really low speed, like trying to turn into a parking spot, and try to turn the wheels, the steering wheel gets really hard, almost to the point where I can't turn it...
  3. Just bought another wagon, few questions.

By the way I just replaced the original rear coil springs with the variable rate whatever springs from Moog, they seem to work good with the KYB shocks I put in it. The car sits about 2" higher in the rear which is what I was looking for and it rides a lot better too. I think it wants front ones...
  4. Just bought another wagon, few questions.

Lol. Even though I like the idea I don't want to be scaring people with the horn and getting in trouble (I know me). I haven't done anything yet since I don't think the compressor runs when the car is running or not, so I assume it's probably bad or someone already removed the fuse or relay for it.
  5. 95 Roadmaster, PCM and other questions.

I remember trying to install a sway bar in my older wagon out of an Impala or Roadmaster sedan, (can't remember) but I remember the wheel base is different from the sedans to the wagons, so sway bar from sedan won't fit wagon. It was about 2" too short. It was a nice experience.
  6. 95 Roadmaster, PCM and other questions.

Yeah, you have really high gears, jumping from 2:56 to 3:08 is probably gonna freak out your speedo quite a bit but it depends on what size tires you're running too I guess. Sway bar should be really simple to install. So you don't have the G80 code after the GM8 uh? That sucks. Mine has 2:93...
  7. 95 Roadmaster, PCM and other questions.

What gears do you have right now? Did you check the code tag to confirm you don't have a posi rear end from factory? I believed the sedans had a rear sway bar and posi from factory, at least if you have a tow package, but I could be wrong. I have a 96 wagon with the tow package but it doesn't...

Is it leaking from the bell housing around where it bolts to the engine or back by the tailpiece where the driveshaft goes in? How does the fluid look? Is it black, normal red color, does it smell burnt? Also how is the fluid level?
  9. Just bought another wagon, few questions.

Well I finally got my shocks and installed them today, rear ones were a really pain back there but car rides 100% better. I think I'm gonna go ahead and order the coil springs next, it rides awesome the way it is but I think the springs are tired. I found out the car had the original air shocks...
  10. Problem with the Mothership

Maybe you got the problem figured out by now but just a suggestion. Block the front wheels and jack up the rear end completely off the ground, put it in neutral and wiggle the driveshaft close to the pinion up and down, side to side and in and out, look for any play on the pinion. The reason I'm...
  11. Proportioning valve, combination valve

What I've done before in those situations is buy a pack of assorted O-rings and rubber seals for plumbing fixtures. There's all different sizes in the package so you can mess with them and find the one that fits the best. Or you can take yours out, take it to a hardware store and match a few, if...
  12. Just bought another wagon, few questions.

I don't want it too low since I need the ground clearance out here, I prefer the original height or a little taller if possible, at least in the rear end. I haven't ordered the coil springs yet, I order the KYB shocks 2 weeks ago and FedEx lost them so we're dealing with that right now. I'm...
  13. 92 Roadmaster Timing

I used to have a 93. I'd recommend checking your ignition control module, ignition coil, cap and rotor, make sure the wires are in the right spot. If all of that passes then your distributor might've skipped a tooth somehow. Before you pull the distributor out you can try loosen the distributor...
  14. Just bought another wagon, few questions.

Hi everyone. I was a member of the site a few years ago, now I'm back. I used to have a 93 Roadmaster wagon, I wrecked it about 3 years ago. I missed the thing so much I went and bought another one. I found a 96 wagon, 188,000 miles, supposedly collector's edition, blue/wood grain exterior...
  15. problem with climate control unit

Hi guys, a couple days ago the digital screen on the electronic climate control in my 93 RMW quit displaying things,, the buttons illuminate when the lights are on but they don't work and the display is not showing anything. I replaced the #6 20 amp fuse marked as GEN and it started working but...
  16. a/c compressor question

Hi guys I'm back again. So last year I had to recharge the a/c in my 93 RMW, while I was doing it i put uv dye in the system. A couple days ago i noticed some of the green dye on the front of the compressor, I can see it without using the UV light, i assume it's leaking from the front seal. How...
  17. RPM needle acting weird

Yesterday I had to replace the distributor on my 93 RMW, nobody in town had it so I ordered it from AutoZone, I bought the duralast that comes with everything, cap, rotor and ICM for around $130. I marked everything, before taking it apart this time, put the new one in, started the car and it...
  18. Car hard to start sometimes

Hi guys, my friend has an 89 Buick LeSabre, it was given to him by another friend who just wanted it out of his acreage. We took the car home and after some work and a few new parts we made it run. It ran great for almost 2 years but now it's having some issues, sometimes it starts first try and...
  19. I wrecked my wagon, need a little help..

Hello guys it's been a while since I was here last time. Recently I wrecked my 93 RMW, it wasn't too bad but there's some damage to it. I've been looking for another wagon to get parts from, I only found one but to my bad luck it was wrecked too.. I need the passenger's side fender, light and...
  20. a/c finally quit cooling today

I keep finding problems with my car, today the a/c stopped blowing cold air. I've been noticing a decrease of cold air for the last 3 summer seasons which leads me to believe I have a small leak somewhere, I checked the refrigerant and it's pretty much empty. Around 2007 the previous owner had...
