If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "2008 LaCrosse" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 2008 LaCrosse" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I guess I'm not sure what my live data should be reading

Yes, in the Factory Service Manual. I can tell you that owning a copy is NOT optional if you intend to work on the car yourself. The Manual is chock full of trouble charts that narrow down the problem to a component or circuit. 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora Buick Riviera OEM Factory Service Shop...

97 Riviera High negative fuel trim it's good when accelerating but when I let off the gas short-term always -14.8

Negative fuel trim means the engine is running rich, and the PCM is pulling fuel to compensate. The PCM uses data from the MAF to set up the fuel injection. Cheap E bay MAFs are unreliable. I learned the hard way that you either use AC Delco or Hitachi MAF's. If you have access to a good...

1970 buick skylark base couple. Want wide tires in wider than front(maybe)

The optional tire for the Gran Sport, which has the same body as a Skylark, were G60-15's. The modern day equivalent is a P245/60R-15. I have P255/60R-15 on 7" wide rims in the front of my GS and P275/60R-15 on 8" wide rims in the rear. IMO, nothing looks better than the stock Buick Rallye...

Help with 2012 Regal GS wheel fitment.

You won't be the last guy to buy the wrong wheels. They may look good, and be a smoking deal, but not fit your car. They either hit the inside wheel, suspension, or steering linkage, or they stick out past the fender, which looks pretty stupid. If you look up wheels for your car on...

    TIre Size

Yup, they won't take back rims once you mount a tire on them. It pays to carefully measure. A guy from Germany over on V8Buick.com came up with this self made tool, pretty cool.

    TIre Size

That is tire section width. The rim can hit things the tire would not. Depends on lots of things. I'm not saying the 10" rim definitely wouldn't work, but if it could, the backspacing would need to be right. On my 1970 Buick, when you go that wide on the rim, it gets really close to the...

    TIre Size

The 10" rim might be the bigger problem. Researching wheels on the tirerack, it looks like the widest wheel they sell for the Regal GS is a 9" wide wheel with 40mm offset. Did all the 2011-17 Regals have the same stock tire size, or did it vary or increase by year? The OP doesn't specify the...

    1995 Riviera water pump

Yes, it can be a pain in the butt for sure. It actually isn't that bad, but you do need to remove that mount and support the engine with a jack. When I did my 98, all I did was support the engine, remove the passenger side mount, and unbolt the engine bracket and pull it back some. You do...

    air conditioner odor

Smoking in the car can make this problem much worse. Not sure whether any of the posters smoke, or have someone else in the car who smokes. The combustion products of tobacco can accumulate on the evaporator, and then it becomes a science experiment.:)

    1971 Fan Switch Stuck

That switch is not reproduced to my knowledge. Find a used/NOS one. Join www.v8buick.com and post in parts wanted. The easiest way to get at the switch is to remove the radio. The climate control assembly attaches to the back of the dash, not easy, but you can access it from there. Or...

Rear Air Compressor - Troubleshooting Thread

When I was working on diagnosing my ELC, I was able to make the compressor run by removing the actual cover of the ELC relay under the rear seat and mechanically trigger the relay. If your lines are not connected and you have a bad shock then the first step is to fix those things. The Monroe...

    Premium vs. Regular Fuel

KR is knock retard. The PCM retards timing to eliminate knock. The PCM does this to protect the engine.

Rear Air Compressor - Troubleshooting Thread

There is a trouble chart in the FSM. It will narrow down the problem to a single circuit or component. When I bought my 98 Riviera, the ELC was inoperative. The trouble chart was 3 or 4 pages long, and I went through it slowly, very time consuming, but it narrowed the problem to the wire...
