  1. Mistakes made while replacing water pump (still leaking around it)...

Thank you all. I wound up removing, cleaning the old, worthless paper gasket and replaced using these two
  2. Mistakes made while replacing water pump (still leaking around it)...

A few days ago, this 2003 LeSabre threw off the serpentine belt because the water pump/pulley was rattling and spinning unevenly. Fortunately, this happened a block away from an Advance Auto so we were able to get it to their parking lot. I bought a new water pump and installed it without...
  3. P0134 error (I've replaced the o2 sensor twice!) What is the deal?

Great...figures that the easiest fix didn't do the trick :/
  4. P0134 error (I've replaced the o2 sensor twice!) What is the deal?

The first upstream sensor, granted, was a cheap one off ebay. When the error returned, I replaced it with a Bosch premium and I'm still getting the error. What do you think could be the issue?
  5. Oil change not resetting after change...

Disregard. I found out how to reset the oil index in a Youtube video.
  6. Oil change not resetting after change...

Is there a way to force off the notification other than just hitting reset on the dash?
  7. 2003 Buick LeSabre...freon refill but still blowing warm air

So I took our 03 LeSabre to our mechanic this morning and he showed me, using a UV light and yellow tinted glasses, that the refrigerant was leaking/splattering. He said I'd need a new climate control hose assembly. I trust him for the most part but would like to get some feedback from you guys...
  8. p0134 p0300 after replacing bank 2 sensor and plug/wires

The 2003 LeSabre is also missing a bit (mostly noticeable at idle). The plugs/wire and the bank 2 sensor underneath was just replaced. The bank 1 sensor was replaced about six months ago. Thoughts?
  9. Removing the metal sheath/guard from around spark plugs...

Ok thanks. Will try again this week.
  10. Removing the metal sheath/guard from around spark plugs...

Do those things twist off or do you just pull them straight off?
  11. Properly resetting the "Service Engine Soon" light after the fix...

Well I can't say with certainty that replacing them didn't solve the issue because I have yet to drive it (I will today). Interestingly, I just spoke with a guy at our local Advance Auto and he said they cannot reset the codes because of the clean air act (they would be at risk of a $10k fine)...
  12. Properly resetting the "Service Engine Soon" light after the fix...

I replaced the sensors but haven't driven it yet (just finished earlier today).
  13. Properly resetting the "Service Engine Soon" light after the fix...

For some reason, I thought the battery trick reset everything. Will the auto part store guys reset it with their OBDii's?
  14. Properly resetting the "Service Engine Soon" light after the fix...

So I've replaced BOTH o2 sensors which caused the light in the first place (up and downstream). I then disconnected the negative battery terminal under the back seat for probably twenty minutes...and the light is still on. Does it need to be driven for a while (which I've not done) or is there...
  15. Help with rear belt buckle replacement...

I was able to figure it out, thanks for posting this! And I can attest that the bolt was more than adequately torqued but it was no match for the 'ole sledge hammer smash. Off to the local salvage yard (fortunately, they have some Buicks out there).
  16. Help with rear belt buckle replacement...

I need to replace the entire buckle because the clasp part is completely damaged. I cannot find ANY videos that shows how to remove it. Can someone assist with maybe a diagram/illustration of how it's connected under/behind the seat?
  17. Please assist with something visual to show where to check for vacuum leaks

Can someone point me to an illustration or a video that actually shows the location(s) to check? I can't find anything in a search.
  18. Can I use LED lo-beam bulbs on a 2003 LeSabre?

I've tried placing LED blinkers on older model cars and I've gotten hyperblinking. What about LED bulbs for the lo-beams?? Will there be any issues?
  19. P0171 code (already removed and cleaned mass air flow sensor)...what next?

Once I cleaned the MAFS on this 2003, the Service Engine Soon light appeared within a couple days. I've not noticed anything out of the ordinary with the way the engine runs/idles. What else should I check?
