Can we replace the fuel filter or is that a non-serviceable part? What service can be done in its place if its non-serviceable? Is there an alternative repair that would be related?

The fuel filter is part of the in tank fuel pump so unlike older vehicles it's a non-serviceable. So best to use a good grade gas, don't run it to empty and occasionally toss in a cleaner in the tank.

Is there a reason why you are asking this question other than it being a maintenance function.

Regular 87 octane has ethanol in it that does a scary good job a keeping the fuel system clean.
Premium fuel usually doesn't have much if any ethanol. Instead, it has additional cleaning additives that make a inline fuel filter not necessary.
Fuel pumps have always had some sort of filter.

20 years ago things were different.
