I've read several posts on here regarding certain issues associated with the regal GS, but I'm curious if there are any 2016 owners on here that can share to issues of that model specifically. I'm looking to retire my 2010 Buick LaCrosse at 225,000 miles for something a little more fun, this red regal GS I found. What do you love/hate about the 16' and what type of maintenance do you guys do specifically for the turbo/brembo brakes? Thanks!

I love everything about my 2014 Regal turbo and there's nothing that I hate. I don't do any maintenance of the turbo or the brakes. I just replace the pads & rotors when they wear out and drive the heck out of it.

I absolutely love my 2016 GS. I only have 16k miles but I haven't had any issues so far. I put nearly 20k miles on my previous 2014 GS with no issues either. Aside from a few outsiders these cars seem very reliable. You'll love the sportiness of the GS coming from a LaCrosse.

Wore out my Brembo pads at 23k miles and again at 47k. They are very expensive to replace (something like $600 for the pads alone), but the stopping power is incredible. After the 2nd pair I bought non-Brembo pads from TireRack for $200 and have been very pleased. They don’t have quite the bite of the Brembo pads, but they also don’t produce the massive amounts of brake dust.

I'm seeing the OEM replacement price on pads from GM parts direct for a little under 200, curious where the 500 price came from for the pads? Or is that for front and back?

From the dealer. May have included labor. The initial replacement at 23k of front-only pads and rotors was around $950. Note that mine is a 2013, but imagine the pads should be the same. I’ll see if I can find the paperwork.

Edit: Found invoice. Pads were $346 (same part number that BR2.0 listed), pins $111, rotors $264, labor $150, add tax and it was about $930. So, no, pads weren’t $600, my thinking obviously included new pins and labor.
