My wife's car check engine light came on today, scan says P0299.
About a week ago, she had a momentary loss of power going uphill, with all the lights on the dash coming on (I guess like when you first start a car). It was all in a quick moment, then back to normal. I read the things that it could be, just wondering if someone else has had the same, and what it was.

That is a turbo underboost code.

If it were me in your shoes, I would check the wastegate linkage.

I would also change the turbo oil feed tube. It runs behind the exhaust manifold and gets cooked and coked up (plugged).

I started with the air filter, cleared the code 2 weeks ago, hasn't come back on. So for now, I'll just watch it. Turns out it wasn't losing power, the AC was on.

With that mileage, I would replace the turbo.oil feed line that runs behind the exhaust manifold. It is an inexpensive part.

Because of how hot this line gets, I only run mobil 1 full synthetic oil. And I will be replacing that line every 36k miles. It is cheap insurance...

I'm not sure what that is, but I'll look into it.
