    2012 Buick Regal GS

it appears we are experiencing the piston issue which is plaguing many Chevy, Buick and Cadillac Ecotec LTG engines. I started a thread on the Regal GS section. See below.

    http://buickforums.com/forums/thread...linder-misfire

We are not getting a lot of information from the dealership in regards to what is going on with our vehicle. Other than them pushing us towards a purchase of another vehicle. Vin# 2G4GV5GV3C9198545. Please advise on how to proceed.

    Thank You

    Re: 2012 Buick Regal GS

So I've been back to the dealer twice in the last week. Once the service advisor wasn't there and again on Tuesday. The first time the person speaking with me(new to dealership) had to go back and speak with the tech. The tech told him he didn't know our car was still there. I'd agree since it's the furthest back in the dealership lot and could easily be missed. I didn't miss it everyday when I passed to see if it had moved(NOT). So I go back in Tuesday this week and am told they are wanting to pull the head off the car since they are seeing something they didn't like when bore scoping it. I told them I gave you permission to repair my car a month ago. It's still under warranty for 3/36 and powertrain. Advisor tells me the tech that originally worked on the car doesn't have the knowledge to pull the head. They will get our car to another tech to get the repairs started when he done working on another persons transmission. Car still hasn't moved as of today.

Please do not remove this reply from the thread like others have been removed!!! I was told weeks ago that Duplessis GMC/Buick would be working on our car. Here it is June 4th 2017 and the car is still parked in the same spot it was over a month ago. I am going on record that this vehicle was brought for service March 27th 2017 and still not repaired as of today.

I am requesting the service manager from Duplessis GMC/Buick and the owner contact me and or my wife. I also am requesting the District/Regional Service Manager contact me!!!

My self and my family have been without our car since March 27th 2017!!! That two car payments if not three. The 3year/36000 mile B2B is almost over. And we do not have an extended warranty. Unless Buick want's to throw one in at not cost. Or give us a trade in/payoff of this vehicle and they can do whatever and take as long as they wish fixing it. We will not be keeping this car without additional warranty protection if we keep it at all. And as of right now anything short of a full engine change will be unacceptable. What's stopping any of the other 3 cylinders from doing the same thing the day after the car is returned to us. Then we are stuck....Again

Update in our side....Wife went by Duplessis GMC/Buick on Monday and was actually told by the Dealership Service Advisor they didn't have anyone qualified to work on the car. I want action for Corporate NOW!!! I do not want Duplessis Buick service techs working on our vehicle. I am requesting BUICK CORPORATE send someone in other than Duplessis Servict techs to work on our car. Or authourize someone to purchase our vehicle from us so we can go purchase a new one!!! I believe we have been more than fair through this whole process.

SO HERE WE ARE ONE MONTH AND 21 DAYS LATER FROM BUICKS LAST RESPONSE. OUR VEHICLE IS STILL NOT BEING WORKED ON REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE DUPLESSIS GMC/BUICK SERVICE MANAGER TELLS BUICK CORPORATE. I PASS THE DEALERSHIP DAILY AND TALK TO SERVICE TECHS AND SALES PERSONNEL AND THEY ALL TELL ME NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO OUR VEHICLE. I HONESTLY DO NOT THING THEY HAVE A SERVICE TECH THAT HAS THE KNOWLEDGE TO REMOVE THE PARTS AND REINSTALL THEM. WE HAVE AGAIN ASK CORPORATE FOR A CHECK(them purchase) OUR VEHICLE AND WE WILL MOVE ON DOWN THE ROAD. March 27th to Today is ridiculous

Whoa...Yesterday after 4 months and 4 day the car was finally on the lift. Wife had to go by the dealership to ask permission to take the loaner out of state for our family vacation. New service advisor actually told her they just recently hired a master repair tech. I knew they didn't have anyone who could work on it. He did say there is a piston issue and they would need to tear the engine down to see what's up and we would go from there. Not happy with pulling a engine apart and piecing it back together if that's what they are going to do. Especially now they they have held the vehicle for so long and we are out of B2B warranty. Not satisfied customers at all.

    Re: 2012 Buick Regal GS

Received another call from the Duplessis GMC/Buick service advisor today. He told me that all parts have been received and or on the way to the dealership. He told me a whole list of parts that really shocked me. Including (1) piston, rings for the piston, all new gaskets, timing chain and gears, oil filter, oil, anti freeze gears, various nuts, bolts and who knows what else. I asked if ALL pistons had been checked so that his doesn't happen again the minute we pull off the lot on another cylinder. I am requesting all cylinders pistons and rings be removed and checked!!! Replaced would be better!! Hell a complete long block would have been much easier and simpler to replace that tearing down the engine and doing what they are doing. We would have been more inclined to keep the vehicle had they replaced the engine. I am also requesting someone at Duplessis drive our vehicle for atleast 200 miles after repairs are completed. Things tend to start leaking all over the place after major repairs like this. I am also requesting the car be fully detailed before we pick it back up. We may discuss trade in to another vehicle with Duplessis but fear they know its condition and will low ball us on the car.

Sadly today some 4 months and 15 days later myself and my wife picked up our now running car from the dealership. Some 4000+ miles on the loaner vehicle which was immediately taken off the loaner vehicle list because it's close to the max 5000 mile limit for some program corporate runs with the dealerships. Anyway after seeing the actual CRACKED PISTON REMOVED FROM OUR VEHICLE. I am ever more confident that there is more damage in our engine than the dealership is letting on to. I point blank asked if the other 3 pistons had been checked and was told there was no need to because to the dealers knowledge nothing was wrong with the other three cylinders. IMO at the least our vehicle should have gotten a short block. Ill let you decide if I can get the picture uploaded.
