Air suspention problems

I have 2007 Buick Rainier CXL and it is currently sitting on its bump stops. The air compressor will only kick on if I press the button on inside hatch. Of course I had to drive to work the last 3 days like that. I've check every fuse and relay I can find with no luck they were all good. I went to jack it up to get under it and check the height level sensors and of course my jack stopped working so I squeezed under just enough I could see them and both were broke. Is there a way to somehow bypass or trick these sensors so it will inflate the pillows? The new sensors are on order but I don't wanna keep driving like this until they arrive.

Not sure if this will work as it's not clear on the word broke and I have never done this so it's a best guess. On the ride height sensor there is a alignment hole to use when installing so if the rest of the unit is ok and it is something beyond that hole you may be able to use that as a option. Again I'm not sure if it's a working fix but it's a option to look at.

Worth a shot. The arm that attatches from the sensor to lower arm, not sure of proper name, broke. I put some 2 inch lift kit blocks under the bump stops, at least I think that's what they are, to raise it up enough that it wouldn't sound like it was smacking the ground with every bump. The only problem is now it keeps bouncing like crazy after every bump.

I don't know the system on your specific model but the issue will typically be the solenoids at each wheel or the compressor's dryer needing replacement.

You are right you don't know the system as the OP identified the problem as the ride height connecting rod needs replacement.

That's all well and good but I'd bet money the dryer still could be replaced. Used to be able to take them apart and "bake" the beads inside in the oven to rejuvenate them, but I wouldn't bother with all that and just replace it if possible.

Indeed you are! Again out comes your passive aggressiveness regarding the simple recommendation of replacing a cheap and common wear part on a 14 year old model with already malfunctioning air suspension, perhaps even manufactured 15 years ago; that may likely packed with moisture that won't be doing the system any favors.

I got the new hieghtt level sensors today and boom worked like a charm. I slapped them on, crunk it up, blew up the air springs, and I was off too the stored for a celebratory beer.

Thanky I still got to check to see if 1 or both are leaking hopefully not but I got 1 just in case maybe this weekend I can brake out the soapy water.

Most air system don't do well if fully deflated, somewhat age dependent, on axle components as they just don't have the flexibility and can develop cracks. Hopefully your quick fix may have prevented this good luck on vehicle.

How hard are they to replace? Any chance you have a part # for them?
