Buzzing noise while auto stop is active. (New Owner 2019 Sportback )

I believe the normal noise during ASS runs the whole time (or most of the time) the engine is off unless your climate control is turned off..

When you park your car and shut down the engine the car is quiet (nothing should continue to run).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Were you able to find the video I referenced above? I've heard that 2nd noise when I cut the engine. Does it sound like that for you? Yes, a video or recording would be helpful.

In 1.5 yrs in 2019 TourX, I've definitely heard the circulation pump noise during AS (stop part), and a faint electronic noise after car shut off, and I'm in car while all is very quiet - that noise is pretty short duration.

Gurgling and trying to push air sounds? Is cooling liquid level up all the way?

Coolant level as of this morning.

1/8 of an inch or so below the seam of the plastic.

After an extended drive I parked the car (left running) to cool off etc. for few minutes. I turned the engine off and the sound was there.
I grabbed my phone and was able to capture a second or two of the gurgle sound. I'll upload it to youtube and post a link.

Yep that's the same sound I was pointing you to listen to on Facebook. There, it's a much better recording. I've only heard it twice on my vehicle in 1.5 years of ownership but no clue what it is.

Took the car to the dealer for growling noise (showed them the audio), poor AC performance, rattle in the cargo cover.

They tell me they found two AC leaks (one was at the line and one at the condenser). Before purchase I learned on the forum to look for that hose protector but maybe I was looking in a bad spot still? It looked more like a coolant line...
Anyways they tell me the growl noise was due to the AC leak.

At least I have it documented on file and have the audio for it so if it ever comes back...

Had the noise happen few more times.

They can't replicate it.

Sometimes it sounds "normal" and sometimes it's "gurgling".
So to me the process of elimination would be what systems pump fluid when ASS is on or when the engine is off and start looking there

but I'm not a vehicle tech.

Yesterday, I got the same noise after the ignition was turned off (3rd time in almost 2 years of ownership).

I was able to exit the car and walk around the hood while it was making the noise. It seems to be the loudest by the right front wheel area. Next time, I'll pop the hood to try to isolate the source of the noise better.

My 2018 TourX makes exactly this same noise frequently when ASS activates or the car is parked. The noise tends to last seconds to tens of seconds and then stops. No clue what it is.

I think it would be helpful to know what sort of fluid pump mechanisms are under the hood and where are they physically located.

My father in law has a Prius and when he puts the car in park (engine off) I think the noise he has is circulating engine coolant. At least that's what he told me but I'm not sure what the purpose is.

I'm fairly confident if we had a GM mechanic on this forum they would be able to pinpoint what the noise is fairly easily as they would have access to a knowledge base that would state what system transfers fluid at ASS or engine off.

Back in the day when I had a '94 GM B-body I had the 3 book set factory service manual which walked through all of the diagnostics, schematics, etc. The '89 GM B-body had a single book. I imagine today's vehicle would have probably 8-12 phone book type/size paper manuals.

@94cruiser I'm assuming you know the normal sound that kicks in during ASS.

So....I've also heard a different noise twice in 1.5 years of ownership. Someone posted in the past a recording of it on the TourX Facebook page which I just tried to record and post here, but no luck.

If you are a member of the Facebook TourX group search within that group "sound once you turn the vehicle off" there is a video posted which someone was able to grab the really strange sound. Is this sound what you're referring to?

Anyone who has access to FB and wants to comment on what they think that noise is... I'm all ears an would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

It's a clear recording of the noise.. which to my knowledge has not yet have a diagnosis. PM me if you're having problems finding the video and I'll give you the name of who posted the video.

Has there been any resolution to this? Mine is starting to do this now, I just took it into the dealer. They said they fixed it but we'll see once I get the car back.

I just got back from the dealer and the noise is in fact the AUX pump and is normal. So they didn't fix it. The weird thing is that this noise is new so I don't know why it just started all of the sudden but they don't seem to be concerned with it.
