2020s are new - now on the Subaru global platform. I know the Impreza gamed up over the last generation in just about every way but power when it moved to that platform in '17. It's possible the Outback will too (sounds like Lurch's wife is leaning toward an XT with that turbo). CVTs do sap power but lately feel a lot more like regular automatics. I'll point out, though, I had to have a CVT replaced at 30K (they're not designed to be fixed) because of a bad bearing. And with that said, I've heard Subaru's going through some growing pains right now that are making a dent in their quality. Plus the risk of the traditional first-model-year bugs. So I'd be wary.

I'm keeping an eye on this new Legacy/Outback. It will be 6 years or so before I'm thinking about another vehicle but if the sedan/wagon choices in the market continue to dwindle I'd take a hard look at a Legacy XT.

Haha ... been talking to a sales rep on the phone who is super helpful from there, but the deal is still at around $35k ... he told me the manager is sticking to it.

That's too much coin ... would you mind sharing the price you got from them? you can Message me direct if you'd like.

Thanks for the tip!
I got my 2019, Summit White, with DC 1 and 2, S and S, Pano, and factory roof crossbars and all weather mats for 32600 before TTL. Keep trying!

Aren't those kinda tin-can-ish and have a CVT? I guess if that doesn't bother you for the $ they want...
The new 2020's (just hitting dealers) are pretty up there quality wise and also very modern interior. Could be had for $35-$38 with a 260hp turbo engine and all the goodies of a loaded TourX ... so a pretty good deal ... on something that holds its value well.
The badass look of the TourX and it's uniqueness is the only reason I am still here ... I don't shop at the Gap :)

Well after quite a few months of searching and trying to find the right deal I ended up back with a Volvo ... my dealer made me a deal I couldn't refuse on a leftover 2019 model year.

I wanted to make the TourX happen, wife was into it as well, but just couldn't find a dealer that would really deal over the phone or email and I was not going to travel a few hundred miles blindly for one.

I will revisit it on the used car market a few years from now as I still want one. I'll be lurking around here as I am interested on further developments with the TourX as well.

Thank you guys for all your help!

BTW, this is what I ended up with ...

Congrats!
Unless those are 22" wheels, the front discs look much smaller then on the TourX.

Thanks guys ...
they are 21" wheels. Discs are pretty large front and back.
Not my choice of wheel size for the NYC roads but this is what this "deal" came with.

At least they're not butt-ugly like the TourX wheels.

All that matters is that you are happy!
I never could understand why people put anything less then 60 series tires on their trucks, since running over curbs and such are something trucks should be able to do. Cars are different.

Actually they are 20" not 21" ... 18" would have been enough for me but have to say they do look better in larger size. Still enough meat in tires not to curb them easily.

My TourX wheeks are good looking and so are some butts. View attachment 19081 View attachment 19082
Yeah, I know what these hideous things look like you don't have to post a picture.
I have reliable sources that tell me, The guy that headed up the design team for the Pontiac Aztec was put in charge of wheel design after they folded up Pontiac, not only that, but *he* was the one that designed the TourX wheels. He believes these wheels are his Magnum Opus.

I like the TourX wheel especially with nicer center caps, maybe not as much as these wheels. 20190309_061440.jpg
Apparently you just makeup stuff...You know nothing about Aztec's no doubt.
Got new 02 Aztec that was stripped except for tow package. Other half liked it alot.

Okay, TourX wheels and Aztecs are beautiful and Kathy Griffen is smoking hot. Do you also eat hotdogs with Ketchup ?

I like someone who can admit when they were wrong...
Do not eat many Nathan dogs at home anymore.. but when I did if no chili, mustard and ketchup was go to as kid.
At Costco or Sams, I ask for a couple krauts and use deli mustard at Costco or reg mustard at Sams..no ketchup.
PS Not sure about your taste in smoking hot women..but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and how dark it is.
