Is yours the silver, gloss white or the tri-coat? Looks good! As for mudflats, I can’t decide on Yosemite Sam Back Off or trucker girl.

Kahuna1963 your TourX looks great. I am a newcomer to this forum and have to say I REALLY like my TourX. The fellow form Palm Beech had asked about your % tint. I have thought about this a bit since I did my tint. I think that 70% on all side windows likely works better with the lighter paints. I have the dark Rioja Red paint, tan (shale) interior and did 50% front windows and 70% rear windows. I wish I had done all 50% for esthetic reasons. With the exception of the bold brushed metal trim that runs from the A-pllar to the D-pillar, wrapping into the taillight, there is no bright work around the windows to provide contrast between the tinted windows and dark body paint. I will post some pics soon.

I do want to say that I am way beyond pleased with this car. I have owned 3 Volvo wagons (incl. 1998 V70 T5 w/3rd row--wish it had lasted forever) and 2 E-class MB wagons (1998 and 2004 4matics) and took a lot of flak from friends and family about a BUICK. My wife drives a last generation beautiful XC60, but I am a wagon guy. The V60 looks awkward in the rear window to me. The V90 is just too much money for this guy with 3 kids in college. I think Mercedes has really diverged from my esthetic sensibilities with recent E-class vehicles. I thought the TourX made sense. After four months and 4000 miles I am a true believer.

In the spirit of full disclosure, my first wagon was a 1992 Ford Escort with a 5-speed--how cool.

Gonna get Heidi (I like to name my cars, ha) tinted in a few weeks here after I get plates transferred, etc. Deciding on what will look best / be most beneficial for outward visibility in night driving too. Thinking 20% sides and back, 30 or 35% front, and ceramic on all. Any thoughts on this? It gets stoopid hot here in KS summer.

Also maybe a visor stripe across top of windscreen for blocking extra glare — I saw some folks here posting they did that. I remember our GM cars growing up in the '70s and '80s came with a factory tint across the visor area.

I did 20% on the sides and hatch on my GS. I'm sure you're aware that 35% is our legal limit in KS. BTW I went with the name on my keytag - zola

Thanks for the info; it's been 12 years since I've had anything tinted so I wasn't sure, that is very helpful. Zola...great name!
