Dissatisfied with service

I purchased a 2023 Buick enclave preferred “ new” from a local dealer. I’ve had it in three times for a steering wheel not centered. Each time they said it was done but it’s still in the same position.

Also,
Before I purchased it I told them them had a bad tire. They said they would balance all of them and if that does not fix it they would replace the tires. After three attempts, they now did a PICO test and found one of the tires way out but still within GM specs. So I’m stuck with a $60k shaking vehicle.

The service dept says GM won’t do anything to fix it. 1700 miles on the car and I hate it. NEVER but GM!!!

I also discovered this car may have been purchased by someone else two months before I purchased which is why I say "new".

I wonder why the previous owner traded it in with such low mileage, or returned to the dealer for this same problem? Have you looked at Carfax history reports on the car?

What was the mileage when you bought the car? If it have over 100 mile it could have been used as a rental, loaner or dealer demo car and never titled other then to you. Depending on what state you live in it depends on how much they are required to let you know. Contact your states attorneys office and or the regional GM about the sale and the vehicle problems. I bought a dealer demo years ago with 600 miles on it but I knew about it and got a great deal.

I’m going to the DMV today to see if it was titled to another person.

Your new car warranty is good at ANY Buick dealer. Perhaps trying another dealer might save you some aggravation. A lot of it has to do with a dealer's willingness to satisfy you. Gotta stay calm and not yell or get otherwise nasty because then they flip the switch to "off" and don't really want to work with you.

I have 3 GM dealerships in my area. Two are outright crooks and their service sucks. The 3rd, I trust because I have a buddy that works in the parts dept.

I'm a bit worried, actually. Buick is heading in a totally new direction with upcoming electric cars and I've heard there will not be much, if any, updating of existing gasoline vehicles. I think a 2024 refresh of Envision. Enclave got it already in 2022. Kinda trying to re-invent themselves. They're buying out a lot of dealers that don't want to continue in the path Buick is heading in. My selling dealer is one of them that took the buyout, but they can continue to service my vehicle. And I have an EXCELLENT interaction with them. Thank goodness.

Did you contact Buick Customer service?
Did you go to the DMV?

Yes and Yes. Awaiting customer service to call back and the DMV says they do not show it titled to another person. The dealership said it was an error.

Which position on the car is the problem tire?
Does your warranty information indicate tires are covered by the tire manufacturer?
If it does, have you gone to a distributor for that tire brand?

When my 2017 Acura MDX needed tires at 40k miles, , I replaced the OEM Continentals with a set of 4 Contis (different model, though). I had about 800 miles on them and picked up a screw in one of the tires. Due to location of the screw, repair was not possible. I contacted Conti customer service. They were FANTASTIC. Promptly shipped out a replacement tire to my dealer at no cost to me. Try speaking with tire manufacturer customer service.

Try a reputable tire store and have them check the tire in question. I used a dealer I actually worked for a few years ago and their service tech rotated and rebalance my tires and it was horrible. turns out one had 21 total weights distributed all over the wheel and another had 17 weights. Took it to Discount tire and they removed everything and rebalanced them with 2. Lots of incompetent people working at dealerships

I don't know if this still applies, but the BEST balancing equipment out there was something called Road Force. My selling dealer happens to have one of these. It can properly balance practically anything. It can actually tell the tech to rotate the tire on the wheel an exact amount. Amazing technology, but perhaps there's something even better now. You might wish to call around and ask if they have a Road Force balancer. But then there's always a weak link, and that's the tech operating the machine. The tech needs to WANT to do a good job, and that is not easy to find nowadays, it seems.

I hope the tire shop sent the tire balancer tech to school on the Hunter Road Force machine. If not, they may never know how to operate it!
