What clock position does your Encore when fully warmed up? Mine runs straight up 12:00.

Mine runs about 1 needles width from exact center. Always right there. The only time I saw it not reach that point was the coldest day of the winter.

Thanks Airman. I failed to mention the year but mine is a 2018 with the base engine.
Most of the temp gauges in my past vehicles always ran between 10:00 & 11:00 o'clock so this had my attention. Thank you for the reply.

This is typical of GMs. All the GM vehicles I have owned '95 and newer have their temp gauge reading just shy of the middle which is often labeled as 210.

It's usually in the center, or a little above towards H, between C and H, depending on how the gage orientation is in the dash and the sweep of the needle, sides, bottom or top, so it will be at 12, 9, 6, 3 o'clock generally speaking.

So are you saying that some gauges on the Encore have the needle mid-point at 12:00 O'clock...
Well it is how the gauge is mounted, so if it mounted with it reading on the bottom C at 9 and H at 3 then around 6 will be closer to where it wind up at for normal operating temps. That answer wouldn’t be correct for these photos then and as very general guideline it's usually in the center part +or- between C & H of a temperature gauge.

Interesting. All my GM’s have been shy of 12:00.
Here’s my 2015 Malibu.
Your 2018 Encore temp gauge should be in the center when vehicle is totally warmed up.

My 2018 Regal is dead center.

Brother 2014 Verano is dead center. Which according to my scans is around 190 f in the summer and closer to 180 f in the winter.

I scanned a 2017 Regal GS on a hot summer day and it was showing around 200 f right after doing a 1/4 mile run.

Edit: Just looked at a couple more scans and my 2018 Regal was running 205'ish when staging for a 1/4 mile run. This was in the hot humid July. Right after the run it was at 190 f.

I have never seen a site thats does not get the original Question. I am asking about the Encore and how the Temp Gauge is mount in the dash. Mine has cold at 9:00 O'clock, running temp at 6:00 O'clock, Hot at 3:00 O'clock. Is your Encore the same ?????

If you read the the post above this he was talking about a 2015 Malibu with the photo being at 12:00, don't see the confusion. So I'll make it simple, no matter what or how the gauge is mounted, the normal operating temperature on most GM gauges will be in the middle +or - between C and H and what time that it is doesn't matter.

Depending on the year and style of dash gauges the answer is around 6 or 12 for operating temperature as a general guideline.buick_14encore1a_instrumentcluster.png2017-Buick-Encore-B-3_o.jpg

I have 2016 Encore. These is my Temp Gauge, were do you guysView attachment 12386 get the reading of 12:00 o'clock.
That's just about were mine is at all times. Maybe just a touch more towards the center, but it could just be the angle of the photograph, which is actually called parallax.

You can't have parallax on a digital gauge..... but anyways.......that's were mine is on the hottest days. The only time I saw it in a different position was when it was below zero, then it was about the second line after "C".

My 2018 Encore runs right in the middle with the regular turbo. My 2017 Encore with the SIDI new 1.4 runs just ever so slightly on the H side of the middle, but still touching the middle line. Both are the new dash design where H is on the right.

I've been meaning to run my Torque app and get the ECU reading to see if the 2017 SIDI engine does indeed run slightly hotter or if the gauge is just off a little bit from the 2018 standard engine.
