Got a question about the 2016 Encore Traction control on the FWD Encore.
Does the traction control system operate as an electronic limited slip by delivering power to either wheel with traction? Or is traction control only breaking system operated? I have an ongoing debate between the service guy at Buick and my friends who are mechanics who are telling me the FWD Encore has an electronic limited slip system. Thx

It's possible that you are all not speaking about the same thing. They may be referring Stabilitrack. There is a difference between Traction control, which applies the drive wheel brakes to maintain contact with the road, and Stabilitrack, which applies the brake on either the front left or rear right wheel depending on which way the car may be sliding and where the steering wheel is pointed. GM vehicles have both Traction Control and StabiliTrack.
