Headlight assembly damage now check engine light showing

Hi.i ha e 2008 Buick Enclave and had a collision with a deer. It damaged my driver side headlight assembly. I drove it for the first time yesterday to have an estimate on the repair work. When I hit the unlock with the key pad the light makes a buzzing sound and I can see small sparks inside the headlight assembly. The first few times nothing happen until I got home with it and then the check engine light came on and doesn't go off. Could it be coming on because of the damage to my headlight? Thanks in advance.

Seeing sparks will always be a issue and what was actually affected is unknown as it would only be related to your vehicle and damage. Having it scanned for the CEL may help in troubleshooting but other than that it's a guess.
