• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "2008 LaCrosse" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 2008 LaCrosse" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Headlight level malfunction

Since I have owned my car for the last several weeks, I have seen a quick message flash in the DIC, that says "Headlamp level malfunction", but immediately goes away.

Has anybody else seen this this? It only happens when starting the car or restarting from an auto stop. In 5000 miles, I have probably seen it four times.

However, the lights do function perfectly normal. They level, swivel, and dance just fine. I have red needles, should anybody be curious.

Mine will flash that (I believe) if I switch from LHD to RHD as it repositions the cutoff line (level).

I've never seen those messages before. Almost seems as if the computer chatters onto the DIC, while doing a pre-check sequence or something. I am just hoping it isn't a precursor of problems to come down the road.

Our 2018 Regal Sportback Essence does the exact same thing. When the car is on auto stop and then restarts on acceleration, the headlamp level malfunction message flashes on the DIC and then immediately goes away. Like noted above, our headlamps function as designed. There is no malfunction.

I have never had any problems with my headlights....no messages, no dancing, and I anticipate no problems in the future. Other then upgrading bulbs, when I get around to it.
Oooooo you are talking about Caddy syndrome....the more options you have, the more cans of worms are waiting.
Really glad I got the Preferred model with only the S&S option package.

If you have the S&S option then you have the same headlight. But yes, more options, means more room for problems. The comfort and convenience is well worth it to me! After all, we tell ourselves what we need to, to be happy with our purchases/live within our means. :headbang:

Not sure what you mean about I have the same headlight with S&S option?
Fortunately or not I live above my means, so I buy the car I want equipped the way I want.
I tend to keep my cars a long time and/or forever, prettty good at buying and getting good deal on vehicles.
Definately not so good at selling them.
Depending on the vehicle I tend to buy performance options, not options that make vehicle slower and complex.
My Pontiac's tended to be loaded because of option packages. The GMC's tended to be pretty loaded, because you could not get Typhoon, without it having all but two options, CD and luggage rack which i wanted.
Sierra Denali was only way to get 6.0 HO with Quadrasteer on a GM truck, so everything was pretty much standard except sunroof.

It's the Driver Confidence I package that gives you the LED headlights, not Sights & Sounds.
