Thank you to all the current forum members! I've been reading the posts during the past year and finally was able to bring my plan to purchase together today. Sold my 2012 Cadillac SRX on Tuesday and today purchased a leftover never titled 2018.5 Regal Tourx Essence, fully loaded (DC 1&2, SS, Pano) for $13,000 off MSRP. only 249 miles, white frost tricoat. I found it about 60 miles from my home city - my wife and I have found better deals in the small cities 1-2 hours away from our home.

Congratulations! All the really big discounts around here a demo units with about 4k miles on them.

Check out the battery in addition to the oil. Mine was an early 19 (09/18 build) bought last month and I put it on my charger when I got it home and it charged all night. Make sure your charger has a AGM setting so you get a full charge.

Thanks for the advice re 1st oil change (1000 miles or 12 months) - I will do that soon. So far I'm impressed with the technology (DC 1&2, Carplay) and ability to personalize many settings. The Tourx makes my (now gone) 2012 Caddy SRX seem like the stone ages.

By the way, the reason I sold the SRX:
- sunroof drain leak on the drivers side (passenger side was fixed years ago)
- throttle body error
- shift linkage (shift to park) error
- drivers door window motor inoperable in cold temps
- passenger headlight assembly condensation (seals were bad, would eventually short out)
- hood rusting.
The estimates for all the above were enough to convince my wife it was time for it to go.

Congrats ... heck of a deal ... If you could share some other Loaded Essence availability you mention I would be grateful ... supply dried up in the 200 mile radius of NYC and I am looking for a similar deal like you got.

Congratulations on your purchase, FishOhio. I'm a Sportback owner near Columbus, just getting into fishing from my kayak. I expect that you will be very satisfied with your Tourx; I'm quite satisfied with my Sportback and they're quite similar vehicles.

A Buick dealer in Mansfield OH has discounted one of his last 2018's by $14,000. It is a Preferred trim with DC 1 and Sights & Sounds. Quicksilver. brings the price down to $23,615. Not a bad price for a brand new car as nice as a Tourx.

Any significant differences between 2018 and 2019 TourX (aside from fluids being a year or so old as mentioned above)? I have just started looking at this model, and a reviewer of the 2018 year was not impressed with the Japanese 8-speed transmission ("stopgap"), but was led by GM to believe that a newer 9-speed tailored to the TourX was in the works for 2019. Any specs I see for 2019 indicate it is still the 8-speed.

TIA

The instrument cluster, navigation and entertainment system was changed mid-year 2018. It's different. Debatable whether better.

I would not be too concerned of the Aisin 8 Speed transmission as Toyota Lexus, Volvo, etc. use them. PDK it is not, but ok for a Buick.
PS: see Post #14.

Well, since I have just started checking out the TourX to replace a 2014 Ford Escape S (lowest trim model, so no buit-in graphical stuff, just status and music displays, with navigation on Garmin Drive Smart 61 - big beautiful 7" display, but almost non-existent "Lifetime Traffic" - and Android phone for traffic), I am not used to anything Buick yet. How is the built-in nav for traffic info?

Got my eye on a 2019 red TourX with DC I package (wanting all those safety features after a taste of them with a Nissan Maxima rental for long trip last year) for $29K - wife needs to approve look and feel now that I like it ;-}

Thanks. Just tried a 2019 TourX today at nearby dealer, and the tranny behavior did not seem objectionable compared to my 2014 Escape, although not as smooth shifting as my 2011 GMC Canyon (really - smoothest automatic I have driven in 50 years with dozens of vehicles).

The Tourx built in navigation is very good compared to the car it replaced (2012 Cadillac SRX) but then all trims include Android Auto and Apple Carplay which is very nice. Overall, the Tourx is light years more modern than my 2012 Caddy - better technology, better safety, easier to see out of, and more fun to drive. I don't mind the transmission at all - I actually enjoy the drive, ride, and handling.
