Low humming at low speed

On our recent road trip I noticed the rear of the vehicle making a low humming sound when driving between 10 and 40 k/hr. Once the speed hit over 40 k/hr it disappeared/stopped. I was thinking this would be a wheel bearing, but wouldn't it get louder with the speed increasing. We were driving down a very steep highway @130k/hr (8% downgrade for 14 km) when a shimmy started when applying the breaks. Not sure if the two sounds/actions are related. Any insight before I bring her into the dealership for diagnostics?
