Nav and radio hard drive

I read a post asking if you could switch out the hard drive for a solid state drive. It got me thinking, the hard drive must be like the ones you buy at best buy or anyother computer store.

This should mean they have spinning plates. Has anyone hit a bump hard enough to cause the hard drive to have an issue? I don't mean to fail but kindof like a cd when it skips. Has it ever caused the nav to need to reset or a song to skip?

I'm just curious.

I don't know about the internal hard drive as I don't use it, but I have an external notebook drive plugged in with music and have not had it crash due to bumps. The LaCrosse has good shock absorption and the number of Gs required to crash a hard drive head is pretty high. We should be fine.
