Where did you learn to dip? Do you recommend a particular brand? I think matching wheels and a blacked out grille trim would really sharpen this thing up even more.
Everything is available at dipyourcar.com. Watch their youtube videos for instructions, tips, color ideas. You can even get cans of primary colors much cheaper at your local hardware store (black red blue white gray and some neon colors) but the special colors and gallons with sprayers are at dipyourcar.com.

As for learning to dip, practice on your car with the expectation that your first item will fail and you will need to peel it and start over. Maybe practice on a small panel or mirror cap.

Full disclosure: I don’t work for DYC, I have no affiliation with DYC, I’m just a huge fan as it allows me to do stuff that I’d never try with paint.

As an aside comment, while skimming through the YouTube videos, I saw one where they sprayed the car with musou black. That stuff is wild. Made the car look almost like a black hole, with no visible feature lines or anything. I wouldn't want it on my car, but I'm sure any car with that paint would definitely mess with people's heads at a stop light, or even if you painted a solid circle with it on your driveway.

Reminds me of that black hole in the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner episodes where you picked up the hole, dropped it on the ground, then fell into the hole. Even crazier is to chrome your entire car.

I have the Opel grill on mine and have adaptive cruise control. You have to get the Opel bracket to relocate the ACC unit. The grill also has to be the ACC version as well.
Good to know! Do you have the part numbers for the Opel ACC grill and bracket?

Here's the PDF with the part numbers for the different grille types (with & without ACC) & the Opel badges (Vauxhall's & Holden's use a backing plate and (of course) a different badge part number).

Hope this helps...

As well as this one: I Removed the Plastic Cladding Trim on the Tourx

It would be great to have a thread that captures the various options and sources for rebadging, as neither of the two linked threads have comprehensive info on this.

What I've found in my own searching is that Original Parts Group in Australia can get most, if not all of what's needed to rebadge as a Commodore, but I have yet to find an online source that lists everything needed to rebadge as an Opel or Vauxhall Insignia (UPDATE - Anaduff posted the Opel grille part numbers while I was writing this - thanks!).

One challenge is that the Buick front grille badge is larger in diameter than the Opel/Vauxhall/Holden badge, so if you want a factory look, you'll be replacing the whole grille assembly. There's also the unanswered (EDIT: Anaduff's post answers!) issue of the Buick badge without adaptive cruise is a different (and much cheaper) part number from the badge on cars with adaptive cruise.

One of the linked threads also documents that the airbag is not a direct swap (size issue, I presume), so a whole steering wheel / airbag assembly would be required.

The rear tailgate badging is probably the easiest, and these badges seem to be readily available. The illuminated logo for activating the tailgate has not been discussed here that I've found, and I've not seen anything in my searching on whether it's a replaceable part to rebrand.

Then there's the question of rebranding the UI on the radio display. White Audio and Media *might* be able to do this (they offer the service for my Chev SS Sport Sedan, the VF Commodore in Australia), but I have not investigated yet. The Insignia/Commodore is not listed on their site at any rate.

I'll end with a montage of some of the different grille options you have for the car (Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, Buick stock TourX, Buick Avenir).

New owner also, two days ago. Saw a 2017 TourX on the highway two years ago and slowed down (VW GLI 30th Anniversary Jetta, six speed) to see exactly what it was. Also shocked to see that it was a B(grandfather's and great uncle's favorite)UICK!. Thought about and read about the car for the past two years, but my better half poh-pohed station wagons. Two foot surgeries and numerous bouts with a post surgery boot due to achilles problems, along with needing more room and higher safety technology lead me to show my wife pictures of the TourX. "That's a great looking car," was her response, four days ago....(see first sentence) and two days later we traveled three hours to a neighboring state and picked up our fully optioned Essence model, Blue Moon Metallic/Shale, 25,150 miles, and drove it home. Very positive trade-in and sale experience. Two of my Aussie friends have a G8 and a Chevrolet SS that they have Holdenized. I am looking for the rear tailgate Vuxhall emblem for our T-X without any luck so far. Any help would be appreciated. We live in Indianapolis and are soon moving to Cincinnati. Lots of commuting back and forth over the past year and the red one I spied two years ago remained the only one I have ever seen until the two on the lot in Ohio earlier this week. Glad to be a member of this group...best wishes to all.

Great find!!! How in the world did you find a blue one? I couldn't find any except for at Carvana and I wasn't willing to order the car sight unseen. We settled for Sport Red and it's missing auto cruise control and lane keep assist. We didn't want the sunroof but would have tolerated it if we had to. Pics please (we all need our fix of vehicular porn)

...and welcome to the club...

If anyone who has taken off the cladding from the bumpers/fenders wants to get them out of their garage. Let me know---Mine has been removed and I'd like to have the option to return to stock. stigsdad at gmail I almost bought a blue one this week--but dealer wouldn't budge on high price. Wound up with a Sport red (the color I prefer) but only a Preferred.

Interesting touch on the wheels. Without the cladding plus the wheels, there is just so much red, so I probably won't do that to my car. But wheels are easily painted, dipped or replaced with aftermarket rims.

I had to get an Essence as my wife absolutely needed the passenger power seat with lumbar. So I probably skipped a bunch of Blue ones as I filtered all the Preferred out.

With all the people on this forum wanting to declad their TourXes, its odd that you want to add cladding. Just enjoy it.

Yea, that was all previous owner stuff---I like the decladded version (that's why I bought it) but also like having options. Wheels are being redone this weekend.

By chance (and not a joke).... Did your car in the sales listing have 2 SETS of roof rails?? I wonder if you bought the below car and cars.com stripped off the white accents before selling. Wheels look the same.

They were definitely going for this look, again not my first choice. I think the only thing I'll do to my Sport Red is dechrome and add roof rails and a cargo box. Would it be blasphemous to put T Type stickers on the TourX?

If my TourX was silver, I'd be tempted to mimic this

Then there's wood paneling (again hard pass for me)

Your car is famous on the TourX Facebook group. I really like the red wheels…in the future I want to paint ours Rioja red. 37166302-D9F3-4263-BB7E-60DAAFB6DEFE.jpeg

HFS...that's funny. Yup, that's it. Traded in Ohio on a new Range Rover. Very clean under the wrap. I'm doing some detail work on the remaining black cladding, some buffing (you can tell the roof wasn't washed very well under that box) and repainting the wheels. It was very cheap for a TourX w/ very low miles, no dings and a clean carfax. I enjoy a project.

I have the roof box...no need for it, or the 4 generic roof bars and I'm selling those on Facebook---need to get some more substantial Thule or OE versions.

I think it is ironic they call it an American Subaru, yet it is made in Germany and the Subaru is made in the US.
