Oil leak problem

I own a 2011 Buick 2.0L with Turbo. I have an oil leak which seems to be coming from a couple bolts that appear to be securing both the pump (see photo attached) and valve cover gasket. I have an engine code P0366 pointing to a bad camshaft position sensor which sits very close to the location of the leak (see photo attached). My questions are
1. Could that leaky pump generate the code. (what does this pump do?)
2. Is it a valve cover gasket leak or a pump O ring failure leak
3. Can I safely unbolt the pump without affecting anything. A mechanic told me it could be connected to the turbo and did not want to try to fix the leak because he was not familiar with Buick. He was afraid to mess something up and wasn't sure what the pump was for. I did not know it was a pump until I took the photo and zoomed in on the label.

So far i have replaced that Camshaft sensor (exhaust side) twice but code comes right back. Also replaced the exhaust side variable timing solenoid.

please help

I think this could be the pump for the turbo. If it is so, then is there anything tricky about unbolting it? I may need to replace the o-ring or what ever seal that's on it.

My 2013 vacuum pump leaked oil and it was the o ring. I couldn't find a o ring for it and the one at the parts store fits the Saab pump which are the same but different seals and somewhat smaller dimensions, anyways zzperformance sells oem brand new pumps with a seal for 30 bucks. Also ignore the fact I said the new pump from zzperformance is smaller than the oem it wasn't I installed both and it fit right in.

That’s the vacuum pump. It provides vacuum to the brake booster while the engine is under boost (so you still have brakes). It is spun by the exhaust camshaft, but can not effect its timing. It is not the cause of your code.

You can unbolt the pump without effecting anything. Just expect a bit of oil to leak out.

This is the seal you need: RKX 9-3 Vacuum Pump Reseal Rebuild Kit FOR SAAB 93 2.0L 2.0 T L 2.0T gasket seal | eBay
It’s an upgrade over the stock rubber one and should last much much longer.

GM did have an issue with weak timing chains, on most of their overhead cam motors for several years. I had mine replaced under warranty years ago. I’m not sure if it was a recall or not, but would be worth talking to a dealership about.

Could the oil leaking on the wiring for the camshaft position sensor cause it to throw codes. I have a 2011 doing the same thing. I ordered the gasket off ebay. The oil leak is getting pretty bad.
