Anyone have this issue where the paint on the wiper arm at the hinge is coming off ?
I may just order a new set. Are there markings on the arm to align it correctly when reinstalling ?

If you want to rework them this is a good product:

My wiper arms had faded and showing metal, took them off, light sanding, wiped down, painted and replaced still good 3 years plus. If it doesn't work you can always get replacement arms.

That first one looks like a Bad Weld!
Wonder if there is some Oxidation going on?
If it were me I'd sand them down a bit, Clean, Prep for paint and then Repaint
the Wiper Arms with a Flat Black Paint.
Like 2007 Lucerne CXL said: you can always replace the arms later.

Completely normal on GM cars in the salt belt. Sand the arm, prime it and paint with satin black.

Is Lake Worth, Florida in the Salt Belt? ;)
Guess there's really no way for us to tell if Sam14GS's Regal has been in Florida
it's whole life.
Could have spent most of it's life right in the middle of the Salt Belt?
I live right in that mess, although we don't use nearly the salt they use to use back
in the 60's-80's.

very common on gm vehicles. I've painted a bunch of them, I media blast them first. Then paint with SEM trim black. Paint the whole arm, so it matches.

The only salt here in South Florida is on my steak :p
I may just look into getting new ones. Not sure how that trim paint will hold up down here, the sun is brutal ☀️
Is a puller necessary to remove it after removing the nut ?
Are there alignment marks to reinstall ?

If its held on by a nut, there's no alignment marks. The threaded post has a tapered spline that bites into the aluminum arm and locks it in position. I've never used a puller. Usually you wiggle the arm up and down and it will break free of the taper.
