I have an appointment 6/27 with dealer to try and diagnose an irritating rattle in my GS. It seems to be either in rear seat latch or the hatch itself and happens when right rear wheel hits a bump.
My post is to see if anyone on here with a Sportback or GS has had anything like this.
Thanks!!

Mine has a similar rattle on the passenger side up front. I took it to the dealer to get fixed and it was gone for a while but now it seems like its back and worse than ever. I wish I wouldn't have even had them take things apart now in retrospect.

I completely stripped the back end of my sportback trying to find a rattle and learned alot of potential places that may narrow it down for you haha. First thing I would recommend is to remove the wheel well tool kit that has the jack etc attached it from the car and go for a drive. Alot of people think nope that won't be it - but it is and after foaming the tools in better it removed some rattles I had. Second spot is in the tailgate there are rubber stoppers that align the boot that can be adjusted/screeed in and out - try increasing or decreasing these. I had added foam and rubbers along the tailgate area and frame, near the glass - you name it but couldn't find my issue until: removing the plastic in the boot liner and the trim near the rear seatbelts allowed me to find a few "modules" or plastic electronic boxes attached to the cars internal frame. They were loose against it and we're taping and sliding over certain bumps and after foaming them and taping them down my noises were gone. Another location of interest and there is a tsb about it I believe, the rear roof liner airbag mount needs some foam added behind it on some Buicks if you notice a tapping sound coming from overhead over some bumps.
Hope this helps

Now that you mention it, ever since I put those two 10” subwoofers in the trunk, I have a few irritating rattles. 😆😆

Haha! Sorry about that. It was too easy!

But seriously, I’m in the middle of soundproofing the trunk and I have all of the trim removed. If you’d like some pics of the trunk lid or anything behind the trim, let me know and I’ll post pics for you.
