Sixth Gen Regal GS Production Numbers

I have yet to see another regal GS in central Wisconsin. Does anyone know how many 6th gen GS were manufactured for the US? It can't be many, my dealer hasn't seen one either, other than mine.

I asked Buick top management this very question last fall and the answer is about 130 total GS 2018-2020. So if you think you have a rare car you are correct. Most likely why resale values are high.

Who is "top Buick management" and how do you get them to take the time to answer a question like that?

The dealer I purchased my car at did not receive a single GS during the entire production run. This was ironic to me in that the ONLY non-GMC poster in the salesman's cubicle was of a current GS.

28,000 total. My Guesstimate is 5-10 percent of those, so 1400 to 2800 total GS. You can't justify a model series with just 130 sales.

Given that all of our cars had to be imported from Germany and purchased from Opel (owned by PSA at that point) I'd guess that all production totals were just enough to cover the costs of the program and federalizing our cars.

Using Autotrader this morning as a guesstimate:
179 fwd sportbacks
132 TourXs
18 awd sportbacks
15 GSs

Figuring the ~27K Regals sold in the US, that puts the weighted estimate at:
14,000 fwd sportbacks
10,000 TourXs
1400 awd sportbacks
1200 GSs

Seems believable. And one could argue the GS is more of an enthusiast car and gets held onto longer, meaning the estimate above could be low. I've seen a couple GS Regals, which is all I can say for the TourX as well. So 130 total just sounds far too low. Less than 3 per state?

No way it was that low. 5000 or so for the entire run I bet with mostly 18's out of that 5000. the 20 gs's are pretty rare

I stand corrected. Number I mentioned is that for 2020. Total for 3 years is about 1300. Still rare. Still a superb vehicle.

That sound more reasonable. 130 for 3 model year is a pretty absurdly low number for any company to justify for certifications.

I have never seen a GS on the road besides mine. I have only seen a few sportbacks. I regularly see the wagons, but there are a few in my town.

It's very rare that I go out and don't see at least one Regal variant. If I had to guess, I'd say the distribution is roughly 45% TourX, 30% Sportback, and 25% GS. If anyone is looking for a used GS, or Regal in general, Michigan is somewhat of a hotspot. I see GS's cycling through the lots somewhat frequently.

There is one other GS in Rhode Island but they do not live in my area. I have seen a few TourX including one of my neighbors and an occasional sportback. It is nice to have a car that is different and I still see people staring at it and I get compliments on its looks.

I am in Southeast Wisconsin myself. In my now almost 40,000 miles on my 18 GS I have yet to see one on the road.

I worked at Buick and we sold two GS variants, three if you include mine.

One was an 18 Black and one was a 19 in Pearl White.

Here in my very northern town the dealer got my GS first, which was the first one in town, and they got a black one that sat for about a month, my buddy said he saw that car once after it was sold but I have never seen it; so I definitely have the only one in my town, never seen another GS, there is about maybe 6 regular sport backs on the road, we don't have the TourX in Canada, but a very rare car these are.
