My first Buick in a long time and I really enjoy the vehicle but I will never buy another vehicle if the auto start/stop option cannot be deactivated. At times this feature is dangerous. Please develop an upgrade to deactivate feature.

I, too, will never buy another Buick, or any car for that matter, that will not allow this annoying stop-start feature to be disabled. I have utterly no complaints about my Envision, other than stop-start, and I still am unsatisfied with it. Am anxiously waiting for my lease to near its end to be rid of it.

try it on a uphill snowy driveway where you are carefully trying to move forward into your garage without any side to side movement as the engine stops and starts.

There is now a commercial auto-stop override device for the Envision here: SmartStopStart
On sale now for $139.95, if you want one. Looks as if it plugs into the sensor for the hood open or close switch. I completely dislike the stop-start feature on my Envision, but am not going to go this route to override it. I'm leasing and will just suffer through it until closer to my leases end. Thanks for posting about this possibility.

2017 Envision Premium I (AWD 2.0T) ; 2010 Enclave CXL (SOLD)
Just wanted to add that I ordered one of these on Sunday, it arrived in the mail today (Wednesday) , and it works as advertised.

Takes 10 minutes to install. Resolves the one issue I had with respect to my wife's 2017 Premium 1. 139 bucks including shipping. I do wish that GM had just put the button to shut it off in my 2017 like they did in 2019, but this is the next best thing, and you don't need to turn it off every time you get in the car like you do with the 2019. It's a permanent fix to the problem.

Has anyone tried removing the K01 fuse from the engine compartment fuse box to disable the stop/start feature in the 2018 envision? If so what was the results?

K01 is the starter relay. The 2018 Envision owner's manual fusebox diagram mislabels the 'K##' devices as 'circuit breakers' instead of relays. After reviewing the electrical schematic, it appears that removing this relay will prevent the vehicle from starting.

I could give you many reasons why this CAN be dangerous:

Pulling into a parking spot and against the curb, the engine shuts down then restarts, car jumps curb.
Making a left turn into oncoming traffic, you come off the break and stab the gas, the car hesitates and stalls
Accessing Car washes, Jiffy lube racks, parking in your garage just to name a few.

My wife's Envision was originally an Enterprise Rental and had the feature disabled. I had to take it in for service where the vehicle was reflashed for a TSB. After that the start/stop starting working. My wife freaked out the first time it happened, I immediately searched for a solution.

There are a number of methods to inhibit the start/stop. Being an Engineer I wanted a solution that would not create other problems or possibly void the warranty. I found Whitexkr's device on the Cadillac XT5's forum and researched it heavily and compared it to other solutions. I was impressed on the design and how it exploits a loophole in the systems design. I ordered the unit and received it quickly. The instructions are easy to follow. I might make one suggestion, you can easily install in under the plastic radiator support cover in front of the radiator support instead of next to the hood latch making it nearly invisible. As far as operation is concerned It works perfectly. When you start the car you will get a brief message that the hood is open and it will reset without intervention. The unit is about half the size of a tic tac container. The unit has connectors on each side which makes it easy if you wish to remove it before service. Many are talking about the 2019 and the disable button, this is a far better solution as you dont need to push it every time you start the car.

Do your own homework and I think you will agree. In my case all I can say is happy wife, happy life!
