Supercharger

Have a 1995 Olds 98 Regency Elite with the series I supercharged 3800 V6. Car has lost power and makes a rattling noise from the supercharger (sounds like a bad tensioner). Believe the supercharger has an issue inside. Anyone know of reputable rebuilders? Parts sources? Are used units to be considered? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Having a difficult time locating information and parts regarding this car. Thank you. Ray

Don't be tricked into replacing your entire blower when you could possibly just need to replace the supercharger coupler itself. Change the coupler. That's why they rattle. That shouldn't by itself reduce power. It would help if you had a boost gauge to see if it was getting boost. There is a valve that closes to route air through the supercharger, the BBV Boost Bypass Valve.
