Hello All,
Can anyone confirm the spec numbers? I believe they are 10 foot-pounds and 18 foot-pounds respectively, but not 100% sure. Getting ready to do my first oil change and looking for confirmation.
Thanks all.

Clean the surface, with a marking pen make a mark on the drain plug and pan and on the cap and block. When retightening just realign the marks.

The drain plug is 18 foot pounds.

The filter housing cap is screwed in until you bottom it out and feel a solid stop.

Don't reuse the old o-ring on the filter housing cap because there is a small chance it might leak.
New filter comes with a new housing cap o-ring.

Do you have the regular 1.4 or the upgraded 1.4 with start/stop? They take different oil filter types.
I have the basic 1.4 turbo. No start/stop.

Well...just for an update on this.

So I removed the filter cap today and its the PF2263G version filter(with the prongs & spring), not the PF2257G version (prongs only) listed in the owners manual.

The information on the actual filter are GM 2519 5775 >PA6-GF30< UFI Filters Made in Korea.

So its back to the parts store. :(

This is shocking gross error in the manual. :(

Thanks again for sharing that article KevinJ.

Torque setting shown on the oil pan (aluminum) is 14 newton meters or 10.3 foot pounds.
The oil filter cap is 25 newton meters.

Thanks for the update southwood.
It's always nice to know how things turn out on a given thread.

Don't feel bad about the filter mix up.
You and A LOT of people have ran into the same thing.

And it should be VERY ALARMING that this difference has been known for a few years now and GM/BUICK have still not addressed it in the owners manual.

GM? BUICK? Anybody listening!!!!
