XM Radio Option Missing From Factory Stereo

Hello there. I have a 2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL with the upscale factory stereo in it. That means that it should have the XM option, but when you touch band, you get AM, FM1, and FM2. The options of XM1 and XM2 are skipped over. Is there something missing from the stereo? If so, what could it possibly be and how do you get access to whatever parts you might need?

It's really easy to see if it is mounted to the structural support of the rear quarter panel. It isn't buried up by the back seat, you don't even have to get in the trunk. If someone unplugged it, you would get the exact behavior you see, as it wouldn't be present on the serial bus system.

Is the XM cable plugged into the radio in the back? If a aftermarket unit was installed and then the OEM reinstalled it may not be plugged in.
