I changed the mounting point of the stock shifter to the linkage on the transmission with my '13 Turbo 6-speed. It is now shorter, direct, and more firm. The change was decreasing the distance to the fulcrum by a little over 1/2". I punch out the old ball mount and used a threaded one from a hood shock rod. The ball socket was a little shorter in height but it still snaps in tight. Besides the holding nut for the linkage the computer needs to be removed. It just snaps off by lifting up.
