Hi all, I'm kinda new. I'm mostly a lurker. Anyways, I am 17 and I drive a blue 2000 Buick LeSabre. Love the car! Very smooth.
I have a question about the headlights, does it come with cornering lights? If you look at the picture:

(Not my car. Credit goes to Saabkyle04, LLC. for the picture.
There are the, from left to right, highs, lows, ???, turn signal/parking light. I want to know what that area of the headlight is for... I cannot get it to come on on either side of the car, so if it's cornering lights, how do I get them to come on?

If you actually have cornering lights, they only come on with the turn signal (left/right) Not all have this option.

From what I read only the Limited versions have this feature. The Customs don't. Sadly I cannot say if this is fact or not since all the Limiteds I have seen in the local junk yards ether have the headlights removed or there are smashed up due to a crash

Alright, thanks, a feature on the Limited. I did forget to mention mine's a Custom.

I did a search, and couldn't find anything. Is there any mod or procedure that I could do to get them to come on? Obviously step 1 is to get some bulbs... lol

I don't think its going to be very easy. I know someone with a 99 Century that don't have the cornering lights, and there isn't even a socket for the bulbs in the light. Pull your headlight out first, and see if you do have a socket/wires in there.

I have a 2001 Custom and have replaced both my headlight assemblies. The Custom headlights do not have a provision for the cornering light bulbs as has been mentioned - there are just chromed reflectors in those spots. You would have to purchase headlights from a Limited ($$$) and THEN also do the wiring.

I haven't torn into my wiring to see what it would take, but I quickly determined that it's not worth my time to try to add this feature.

The car that I grew up in (1971 LTD Brougham) had cornering lights on it. The only time that they were really useful is out in the sticks when you're trying to find a turn off of the main road and there is zero road or street lighting. In most urban situations, there is enough ambient light that they don't provide much added value.

Alright, thanks all. If it is going to require whole new headlight assemblies then yeah it's probably not worth the time and money... I mainly wanted it for looks anyway... A big car with lots of lights, seemed like a good idea. (I don't mean ghetto'ed out lights btw)
