This may be a stupid question but... I notice some have 3 and some have 4.. whats up with that?

They are called Ventiports
The 3 and 4 vents denote the amount of cylinders the car has. The 3 vent cars have the V6 the 4 Vent cars have the V8. It is just a Buick cosmetic thing. In the 40's and 50's when Buick offered car models with both a V6 and V8 option or a straight 6 and V8 or a straight 6 and straight 8 so those vents were used to distinguish the models

And some other car makes also copy that look.

Back in the 70s though wasnt there a "3 hole Buick" and a "4 hole Buick"?

I recall my dad's '77 LeSabre had 3 holes - and I am pretty sure it was the 350 V8. Then didnt the Electra's have 4 holes?

The '77 LeSabre standard engine was a V6... with an optional V8... If by chance, your Dad's car had the V6... that would explain the 3 holes instead of 4 holes.
The Electra was standard with a V8.

I had a '72 "Deuce and a Quarter"... way back in the day...😎
It was a very nice car

I could use some help on the vents if anyone has some ideas. Does anyone make the old Ltd or Lesabre vents, cause ive been looken for a year now and would rather get the orignal but would be fine if there aftermarket, as long as they look like this one in the photo. Thanks for any help and if anyone has a link to share please do. thanks again
