I had a check engine light and got the code P2269 saying there was water in my fuel tank. Onstar also confirmed this code. I took it to the dealer and the guy said immediately that it was a bad sensor and they have had a bunch of those. They set up an appointment for me the following day and replaced the sensor in about 35 min or so. It was covered under warranty so I trust there really wasn't any issue with the fuel otherwise they could've charged me for it and not had it covered under warranty. It's not that I don't trust the dealer, its just my first time having to deal with them so I had no bad feelings for them, at least not anymore than a different dealer...I don't like handing my keys over and not being right there to watch what they do. I have almost 22,500 miles.

Not sure if this was already covered but when I searched I didn't find anything on it.

Use poor fuel lately? I generally use Top Tier Fuel, 93, myself, it's possible poor low quality (not octane) fuel could have water in it. Let's hope it's just a sensor though.

yea it definitely could be low quality but what makes me think actually was the sensor is the fact that the guy said its a sensor without hesitation and that they've been replacing a bunch of those lately. However I don't plan to go back to the gas station I last filled up with just to be safe.

I only use mobil/bp 93 or E85 and the light was on for me, it has to be the weather (Chicago also). Bad news is the sensor is on back order (common issue), I disabled light so autostart would work til dealer gets sensor in.
