Buick Accidentally Reveals Regal GS with 3.6L V6 and AWD

Maybe we'll see it unveiled at the NY Auto Show? Or... maybe its still in the works for the next year instead of 2018.... or it was a simple typo when they were converting everything from the Opel website to the Buick Website, haha.

I never doubted there would be a new GS. 🙂

I hope so, without a V6 there's nothing compelling me to get another Regal.

Agreed. Not just the 3.6 V6, but the twin turbo 3.6 (LF3) from the Cadillac CTS. Buick Regal brand manager take note!

Awesome to hear this! It will be interesting to see which V6 they choose, the 335hp V6 from the Camaro and ATS, or the 310hp V6 from the Lacrosse, or like someone else mentioned, the twin turbo V6 from the CTS. My guess would be the 335hp V6, which should be good for 0-60 times between 5.5 and 5.8, and 1/4 mile times about 14.0 - 14.3. Competitive enough for sure, while not treading on the ATS. That would do it for me. I would much prefer to buy a Regal GS if properly "motorvated" over a Ford Fusion Sport. Please pull it off Buick, I'll see ya in the Fall!

The 335 V6 in the Camaro is very nice. Sounds amazing to with a nice high flow exhaust.

I would miss forced induction though. I'm a turbo/supercharger guy at heart.

Oddly enough I'm more of the opposite. I would like the turbo V6 but not the regular 3.6 they stick in everything else. I'm always disappointed with the lack of torque in the 3.6 every time I get in one and the need to rev the hell out of it to get it going. The 2.0t seems to do a better job with mid range grunt on a daily basis.

And it brake torque launches off a stop like a mother when you need it to.

The only reason I'm driving a Regal is because of the availability of a manual transmission back when I bought mine. Until they talk about bringing back a manual transmission, I'm out.

Come on Buick... if you are going to go after the small 'wagon' market, why not tap the also small 'manual transmission' market? The same assembly line will already be making them with manuals for Europe. We need a manual transmission and AWD.

I'm thinking the performance from the V6 will be adequate but IMO they're more reliable engines simply because there's fewer things to go wrong (the new 2.0T also comes with start/stop according to the sales literature).

I had a 3.6 V6 in a prior GM car, and it's a good engine. You do need to lean into it a bit but the power is definitely there.
