handsfree liftgate hard to open?

The "kick-to-open" feature on my tourx is hard to work. I'm sucessfull getting it to work about a third of the times I've tried to use it. It's not that big deal, except when I'm actually carrying something heavy or awkward, and having the thing open itself would be handy... Is this the expected behavior, or is there something wrong with me or my car?

File me under that group as well. It takes me a solid 10 mins of salsa dancing before I can get the damn thing to open! As it currently operates, a useless feature to me sadly.

The sensor is offset to the left of center. Just below the left back up camera if that helps. It took me a few tries to figure that out.

I do a double kick and it opens every time.

Took a few weeks of getting used to it, but now it works most of the time without looking like a fool.

Ditto.
Kick straight forward and kick fast. A slow kick will not work. Once I learned this, it works every time.

I've had issues with this as well. Maybe 1 in 10 attempts will work. I will try the quick kick to see if works better.

I've just about given up on getting this to work.

Kicking left of the bat signal has improved my success rate. I wonder if it's not aimed right.

It's easy. Just go 1,2,3 Kick, 1,2,3 Kick. Works every time.

I had difficulty at first, but found that kick, 1-2-3 is more like it.
2 or 3 second delay before the actuators are triggered.

Rhetoric taught me well- quick kick direct straight has got me nearly a 100% success rate

Perhaps another stupid one but maybe this will help someone else: finally figured out I've probably been kicking under the hatch in the wrong place to open it — this is why I was having such a challenge with it. Stupid me, I figured directly under the center of the hatch was the most logical place to activate the remote open feature. After some closer examination with the bat signal on, the active area is actually directly beneath the far left of one's license plate.

Just joined the forum!! I was very frustrated as well on this feature!! Just tried the quick kick and it worked like a charm!! Opening & closing!! Just did the happy dance in my garage!! LOVE my smoked pearl 2018 TourX Essence wagon!! 😍😍😍
