2021 Encore GX
Hi

I recently bought a 2021 Encore GX, 1.3L Turbo AWD. While adding some washer fluid today I was….unhappy… to see the engine oil dipstick was down to the bottom. The instrument panel says oil life is at 54% and I’m only about 3,000 kms from the dealers oil change. It took a full litre to bring it up.

I’m in to the dealer next week to see what they say. I don’t have ramps and parked on grass right now so couldn’t look for leaks etc. Of course no obvious smoke. Are there any known pattern faults causing high oil use with this motor? It’s only 90,000 kms so not old by any stretch.

Did you check the oil level shortly after the dealer service?

Although I am 1 year late, I have the same problem with my 2021 Buick Encore GX. I bought the car 1 year ago it had 45,000 kms now it has 161,000 kms. I am driving daily for UberX. I do an oil change with filter between every 5,000 - 8,000 kms. The oil level is checked and confirmed after every oil change. At about 5,000 kms the oil level is at the bottom of the hash mark on the dip stick, At 8,000 kms there is no oil mark on the dip stick. The oil monitor on this vehicle is useless. There are no visible oil leak and no oil marks on my driveway. No blue smoke or smoke of any other color when I excelerate heavily and the turbo kicks in.

Over the years, I owned/leased 6+ new cars and never had this problem.

I am surprise that nothing is said about this problem. Maybe the deales and GM is keeping quite about it.
