2001 LeSabre
My 2001 LeSabre seems to be acting up. It seems in this heat in which it's been quite hot out that the Abs and brake light turn on and stay on after I start the car if she has been sitting all night. But if I turn the car off and then I turn it back on those lights do not stay on continuously and turn off after a couple of seconds. The car has not acted up at all brake wise. Then for the rest of the day no matter how many times I turn it back on and off they do not come back on and stay on.

I am not sure where to even start the troubleshooting for this. Does anyone have any ideas? I did stop by a AutoZone and they did not see any codes.

Welcome.
To start with the basics;
Did you check the brake fluid level?
Does the parking brake work correctly?
Was the scanner used capable of reading ABS codes?

I just went and did the three things.

Brake Fluid Level - Its full, but it's darker than used oil. I see that its suppose to be clear from what I have done a tad bit of reading on.

Parking Brake - I put the car on a hill, put it into natural, pushed down the parking brake and then slowly let go of the brake petal and it did not move at all, so it seems parking brake is fine. Then put foot back on brake, put back into drive and released parking brake and it fully came up and drove just fine afterwards.

Scanner - I went to another parts store and their scanner does have a ABS option, but did not show any codes, but he did not know if it could look for stored codes if there were any.

Good to start with the basics for sure. I also have a 2001 and my ABS, Traction, and brake light has been intermittently coming on / off for years now.
Without going into more details... I re-soldered a broken connection in the ABS module. (Apparently GM has issues with bad soldering for this part.)

This fixed the problem for a month until it reappears. Go figure. AT this point.... I'm just learning to live with it. No...it's not a loose ABS sensor or another simple fix...

Do a search on these lights coming on. I haven't found the answer "yet". Let me rephrase that - I haven't found a PERMANENT Repair yet. Frustrating.

JGBuick, did you happen to take any photos of the bad solder joint that you could share?
My LeSabre's currently don't have the issue, however there are times when I see an ABS light on my (3) LeSabre's but in my case it's a self induced problem. I have a bad habit of very rapidly turning the key straight to start, not providing 1-2 seconds for the modules on J1850vpw network to perform the initial communications check. My wife on the other hand is very disciplined to wait 1-2 seconds in the on position before starting the car and never sees the ABS light. I've looked at the traffic on the J1850vpw bus and after seeing the volume of traffic, it makes sense that I should adhere to my wife's habits over my own.
