Hi All,

We just traded in our 2019 Encore for a 2026 Encore GX ST. I know the 2019 used 2 diff oil filter types for the 1.3L engine.

Does the 2026 use multiple oil filter types too? If not, anyone know which filter it uses?

Thanks!

Did you look in the back of the owners manual for the recommended filter. Pretty new for many members in this group to have a 26.

RTFM, what a concept... To answer your question, no I did not, but I just did. It doesn't list any part numbers, only fluid types and capacities. I should have thought about reading the manual, but I did not. Thank you!

It's the first time in my life to own a car this brand spanking new, so I didn't even think about your point...

It's based on the engine provided with your model. You may have the 1.2liter, fuel friendly, 3 cylinder or the big-block beast - 1.3liters of 3 cylinder fury. I'll bet the 1.2 is more widespread in a chevy, the buicks are all slightly upscale trim levels....

I have the big 1.3L beast! 😀 It really does have significantly more pep than the 2019 model. So from your list, the filters are the same from 2020-2026?

My biggest complaint so far is the significant delay going into gear when shifting from R to D; otherwise we're loving Sugar!

I name all my cars. The 19 was Doodlebug since she was gray like a pill bug; Sugar is white! 😀

I just looked on Rock Auto and the 2026 oil filter is definitely different than the 2019 filters... The 2026 filters are the old screw on to the bottom of the engine type filters... I will miss changing filters from the top side though, but at least I don't have to do it for a while...

I live in College Station, TX (77845) and have a filter I don't need now. I'll give it away, just pay shipping or pick up locally. AC Delco PF2263G.

I can't figure out if it's severe turbo lag, or the 9 speed trying to remember where it is, but yes, significant delay.

I have the CVT tranny so I don't think that's it... I wouldn't think it's turbo lag since it's basically idling when switching from reverse to drive...

I'm also disappointed there's no audible alarm for the blind spot feature, only the mirrors flash, and there's no option to turn on the alarm... Or at least I can't find it in the book or poking around in the display...

Yeah, I don't like the fact that the blind spot monitor doesn't beep and only flashes the light in the mirrors either. I still love this little car regardless, hehe.
