Can the Trunk Open When You Have No Power

How about I took the battery cables off, the emergency latch in my car has broken off, and I left the battery with the bottom of the trunk in the up position. I have crawled into my trunk, and I can find where the latch is supposed to be. Does anyone know how to manually operate a screw driver or hook to release my trunk?
