Not a good sound..

Sorry to hear. Thats really low mileage to fail. Most last to 175K and over before rebuild. That's a normal retail price these days.
I was quoted 2500 at an independent shop in Oceanside. With tranny mounts and tax it came to just a little under 3000.

What shop was this? This place is also gonna replace the rear transmission mount that's a pita to do.

Silverbullet04, could you tell us what they find that caused all the noise and shavings?

I just saw the "Silver Bullet" in the on deck area outside the shop. It should be up in the shop soon. I like the fact that they rebuild each transmission in house.

It's my first time using them. I'm going by google reviews, hopefully everything is done as expected.

My tranny shifts very smoothly... almost imperceptible. They did a great job on the rebuild.

Oh you had the job done there? That's good to hear. So what was the initial problem that you had it rebuilt?

Haha, someone sounds like a stalker!
It's a very small shop and it's about three miles from my house so I just passed by to see if his car was up on the lift yet. Small world!!

Mine was stuck in neutral. I was hoping they could "free it up" but they had to go into the side cover so I was basically "locked in" to a rebuild.

We all live close to each other. I'm happy to hear you guys say good things about this transmission spot. This was a big decision for me getting this fixed.

If you like great cheesecake check out the Whistle Stop bakery right near Sonny's on the other side of the street.
