Buick Ownership
Enclave
I have a 2014 Enclave that just developed an issue when trying to make a phone call using voice commands. We have used this feature since buying the vehicle new off the showroom floor and it has worked flawlessly. 2 weeks ago it stopped making the call to the person specified and would show the screen attached with a random 6 digit number. If we say the number to be called, the system will make the call, you just can't say a persons name. My wife uses an iPhone 7 and I use an iPhone 8 both phones were running iOS version 13.?? something for the last year and this is the iOS we were running when the problem started. I just upgraded both phones to 14.2 tonight with hopes of solving the issue. No such luck. I also deleted both phones from the Bluetooth list and re-added them before the phones were upgraded and after they ere upgraded, still no luck.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Having a similar problem with a 2015...worked fine until recently. Now the settings menu has the phone function grayed out, so I cannot re-pair or access the phone settings in any way

Our 2013 Enclave will not give us the opportunity to request a call. The screen changes and the radio shuts off but it doesn’t ask for a number OR a person’s name.

I have a 2014 enclave and it does not recognize names. On another forum the person changed the language from English to another language then changed it back to English and it started working for him. I didn’t work for me. So frustrating. Yet Buick service managers haven’t a clue as to what to do.

I have the same problem- have you found a solution?

I just recently bought a 2014 Buick Enclave and I have an iPhone 14 Pro running the latest version iOS 16.5 . We have the infotainment system that only has the DVD system included, no navigation system. I added the phone to the Bluetooth device list without an issue and I can call using the hands free mode in the car and also use contacts as well. Few things I can recommend here are... is the system in the car using the correct linked phone and does the phone show it's linked to the car from the Bluetooth menu inside the settings? Asking this since you can have multiple devices linked to the car like phones and headsets, etc. Also try resetting the Intellink system from the settings on the infotainment system. I did this before I ever started, since the previous owner still had all of their stuff in the system and some of the app icons were missing.

Also, I have not yet been able to see what version my Intellilink system is running to give that info as well. I have been hunting online to see if there's a way to find it and nothing yet except for some OnStar items. I know some of the newer vehicles like my 2017 Cruze can get updates through OnStar but not sure on the 2014 Enclave yet. I know there is a USB menu from the Buick and the USB memory stick (jump drive) has to be formatted as FAT32 (Windows file system type). I'll try and see this weekend if I can figure some more things out with it.

I have the exact same problem with my 2016 Enclave. I started having this problem about a year to a year and a half ago. No idea why it's happening and it looks like there is no solution, which is really frustrating for such an expensive car.

Same problem on my 2014 Enclave! Started about 6 months ago, also purchased New, never had a problem with voice command. It will dial the number but not by contact name? I have tried everything. I own a Samsung phone. No recalls on this?
