Buick Ownership
1992 buick lesabre and 2000 buick park avenue
2000 Buick Park Avenue non supercharged. Have voltage drop occasionally, went through everything in charging system, checked out fine. Alternator is 2 years old AC Delco, correct voltage of 14.5 or so at the battery and the alt. post. Alt. ground is good as is the heavy gauge connections to the battery. I noticed the connector plug on the side of the unit is in bad shape, needs the pigtail spliced in. Listed as 4 pin connector but I see only 2 wires. Did Buick make different connector configurations? Thank You.

if you go to oreillies or something and look for a 4 pin oval pigtail for sale on the shelf. The connector will most likely fit in the alternator regulator.

Metri-pak 150 terminals delphi

Your alternator CAN make use of a 3rd wire, and I suggest you do that actually. But you dont have an alternator ground, unless you added one. can you show me your alternator and its grounding?

I can get a picture tomorrow but I only saw 2 wires, is that normal? I called GM and they said its a 4 wire plug.
why does mine only have 2?

Buick did change the alternator connections in 2005. Different part numbers on the alternators. Be sure you’re looking up the correct year part.

you got the wrong alternator. The 2 pin only alts cannot be controlled by your 2000

The bcm in the 2000 park avenue handles the same things as the 2 pins do with their pcm/current sensor/charge module

@BuickGirlFromMars can I take the 140amp alternator
From a 2004 Buick Park Ave Ultra 334-2858 2 pin
Alternator and put it on my 2000 Buick Park Ave Ultra SuperCharged which is setup for 125amp
Alternator 4-pin female flat connector Gone thru 2 new alternators ac Delco 335-1088 Most voltage I get is 13 on my inside gauge
