After scanning the system and finding this code, I replaced the purge solenoid, and the fuel cap. Fuel cap didn't tighten. While replacing the solenoid, I noticed that the pipes coming from the rear of car are rotted away. I just purchased the car. I'm looking for some input on what the pipe that the solenoid on it doesn't have. What is it attached to? All I have there at the top of the pipe is a chewed off braided hose like a fuel hose.
I have the tools to replace the metal pipes with nylon fuel pipe, but need to find the second attachment up by the engine.

What I found after working on the system, is the pipes from the rear of car are rotted off at the base of the firewall. I am a retired tech and have nylon fuel lines that I could replace the rotted parts. What I'm trying to figure out is line 2 comes up along with the line going to #5. At the end of the steel line is a piece of fuel type line that is just there, looks chewed off. Where does that line go to?
It appears to go up towards the engine. I just bought this car and am trying to get the evap code cleared. As you can agree, rusted open and apart lines would qualify for a gross leak.
Thanks for the response. Hoping you know where the line that's not to the purge solenoid goes to.

See the attached diagram evap line #5, suspect that other fuel/evap lines may also be in question. Getting a smoke test and/or a professional scan on the components would help vs trying the parts cannon.

Is it possible that the people who used to own the car had that line sealed off? From what it looks like that could be a return line to the fuel tank. I have also found what looks tike the external transmission filter has been by-passed.
