I don'thave high hopes of getting an answer on this forum based on the resounding response to the last question I posted, but I am willing to try anyway.

2005 Buick Terraza. Interior lights do not turn on when driver's door is opened. Lights turn on when any other door is opened. I cannot find any type of door jamb switch that would actuate when the door is opened. I also find no setting in the personalization menu about choosing whether or not the interior lights turn on when the driver's door is opened.

Is the swiitch that tells the BCM the door is open part fo the latch mechanism? I can see no other mechanical device on the door or the jamb that appears capable of sending a signal or completing a circuit.

If you have totally investigated the door latch then it may be a problem with the wiring going into the door.

I investigated and confirmed the part that serves the funtion of a door jamb switch is part of the latch mechanism. Beyond that I need the factory scan tool to run diagnostics. Very annoying. I am waiting for the replacement power supply for my Star scan tool to arrive later this week. In the meantime, I will continue to dislike GM products.
