check engine light codes

Hello I just recently got Thai 2012 Buick regal 2.4L. When I was driving home I noticed a gas smell and once I had came to a stop it started jerking real bad I changed the spark plugs and o2 sensors but the jerking stopped it’s not as bad but still happens I checked the codes and a p0420 code...
