ignition colum switch

Can the ignition switch on my 2001 buick lesabre be replaced with one salvaged from a 2001 buick (different model). I lost my lesabre key.

Hey all i just replaced the starter, when i turn the key it sounds like the starter wants to engage , i get the click but nothing after that. drove it for a week with a NEW starter and then this again. Is there a switch in the column also that may be causing this?
