The wiring diagrams show the following modules on the class 2 bus. I can locate all but the Instrument Panel Integration Module. Does anyone know where this module is located?
- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC): Daughter board which plugs onto the main instrument Cluster PCB.
- Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM): ? Supposed to be located behind the left side sound insulator but I've yet to locate it.
- Dash Integration Module (DIM): Located behind the Glove box.
- Rear Integration Module (RIM): Located behind the upper drivers side back cushion.

I completely disassembled the dash on an 04 Custom and I still haven't found the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM),
see photos below. All available schematics list it. The location description varies in the exact wording but in context they all indicate
somewhere in the left side of the dash. A preponderance of evidence says it should exist because too many functions still work
when the DIM and RIM are disconnected.
Does anyone know where the elusive 00-05 LeSabre Instrument Panel Integration Module is located on the 00-05 LeSabre?

I'm going to return to the bone yard, does anyone have any suggestions on where to look next?

This may be a stupid question but why are you looking for this module?
Not a stupid question at all. I really like the 00-05 LeSabre's and I have (3), my son in law has (2). We are trying to collect some spare parts while they are available in the bone yards. I've noticed that the bone yards are sending more of these to the crusher.
This is the only module that I can't find. I've read some forum posts that indicated when this module fails, it creates some havoc. So, it's important for me to locate this last module. I have found throughout the years that I usually regret not being proactive for stocking some key parts vs. waiting until something fails.

This may sound odd, but inside the back of the instrument cluster is a small board that is attached to the backside of the main motherboard. I wonder if that might be what is being referred to?

I kinda doubt it, but ya never know.

Thank you, it's a logical thought. According to the schematics, that daughter board is the Instrument Panel Controller (IPC) which has a fair number of I/O but all appear to be confined to the instrument panel and the DIC.

Those LeSabre's were manufactured 20 years ago. I was hoping there would be someone who worked on this part of the assembly line for the LeSabre's in one of the forums who could help. But after coming to my senses, I figure that would be up there with winning the lottery.

The darn thing is, the factory service manual plus the after market documentation, all list the following:
1. Dash Integration Module (rear of glove box).
2. Instrument Panel Controller (the daughter board).
3. Instrument Panel Integration Module (supposed to be behind the driver's side sound insulation panel).
4. Rear Integration Module (behind the upper backseat cushion).

I'm going to hit the bone yard again this week. That is unless I win that lottery and a previous assembly line worker comes in and shows me what I've been missing 🙂

I know a guy who knows someone who heard of someone who may have met one or more of the workers at the bar where some of the assembly line workers might have gone to lift a pint or two, allegedly. And one of them may have won a lottery, allegedly.

Nice. Sometimes a little humor helps, thanks.

I wish you success in your search of the several bone yards you'll be visiting.

It turns out the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) is for LeSabre's with the Automatic Climate Controller. It appears the Automatic Controller is just a collection of switches and the LED alpha/numeric display and the remote controller + I/O is in the IPM. I would have thought it should be titled something more relevant such as Automatic Climate Remote Controller (ACRC), if for no other reason to prevent confusion. There are more I/O climate related sensors and signals such as sensing temperature at various locations in the duct work (to support the dual temperature zones). The Part number for the IPM is 25733977 and works in conjunction with the automatic climate controller part number 16236054.

I always thought it was called the Dash Integration Module. It is for option CJ2 which is the HVAC that is in the Limited model. It's located in the dash above the accelerator pedal.

That's good to know that the option was called CJ2. The Dash integration module is located just behind the glove box. And you're spot-on, the location of the IPM is just above the accelerator pedal. I still think they should have named it differently.

It was probably from such naming issues that led to gathering so many of them into a single BCM. Just a theory since I just got paid and had 2¢ to spare. 😀

Whatever it's called it fixed a dead HVAC controller.
