03 buick regal - looking for mechanical history and tips on what to expect with it.

Hello, my name is Clyde and I have an 03 buick regal ls and I'm justing looking for mechanical history and tips on what to expect with it. And finding accurate information on how to get my security light to stop randomly stop flashing at me and killing the ignition and fuel pump.
I've just been putting the key in the ignition, turning it to run and leaving it sit for about 2 1/2 minutes until the light goes steady. Take the the key out and start it.
Any and all information would be great.
