I apologize ahead of time for the story but I can’t make it any shorter with all the info that needs to be said. So I bought my vehicle from a “friend” that said “I was getting a steal with this vehicle and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Perfect condition except a few dings and scratches here and there) pfffff obliviously she knew of ALL the issues, but suckered me knowing I needed a 3 row vehicle for my kids immediately. Everyone was trying to screw me over that I looked to buy from and she acted like she was giving me the steal, not the other way around. Pfff it was a steal in fact on MY wallet. The first time I drove it ,it seemed great .no issues, but I am not anywhere near a mechanic. At the beginning I didn’t know how to change a tire. After a couple days the transmission started slipping, shuttering and jerking every gear that it would go into. When I start it, it shutters and is so loud. It makes a whining noise along with a whistling sound and also a humming and a whirling that gets louder every gear it changes until it shifts, and starts low again and getting louder as I accelerate. It pretty much makes every noise except singing a tune. The gears slip and when it changes into gear it jerks the whole vehicle like an adult ride at an amusement park (except not as fun). I learned really quick when I went to get it inspected a month later, that it was a lemon that I already had put 1,000$ into. not including the 2000$ I paid for it ,And the 500$ on the taxes, tags and title I paid for as well. I have 5 kids and am single(which means I don’t have a man that could possibly tell me “no hunny, not that one!) I can’t afford another vehicle now after all the money I put into this. I won’t get even a quarter of it back to go towards something else. So far I have changed the CV axle the brakes all the tires the outer tire rod on the passenger side. Even the damn driver and passenger heated side mirrors(ridiculously expensive). The front and rear windshield wipers do not work anymore (meaning they did when I got it and stopped a couple weeks later)which I thought was the ACcessory diode on the internal fuse box, however I bought a new one and traveled very far to get it, and it turns out that was not it. Well I think it is it, but the fuse box won’t even hold the fuse in because I’m pretty sure the internal fuse box is bad and I need a new one. None of the accessories that runoff the diode fuses work even though none of them are blown. I have checked the voltage on the fuse box and with my multi meter checked the fuse in those spots and they aren’t getting juice. I’ve had someone(not an expert just the ex baby dad that builds dirt bikes from nothing and can wire a whole house,but doesn’t know a whole lot about car wiring) and he checked all the wires leading to the box and pushed back of the fuse box that was pushed back somehow back towards the holes where the fuses go in(I don’t know how to say that in mechanical terms). my cluster does not work either. I know that was an issue with GM stepper motors and their original clusters suck. My headlight also would not work as well as my highbeams that was actually fixed thank God. But that’s also an issue with GM because of the casing around the headlights are not secured, so water gets in it. I had about 5 cups of water doing the wave in my headlight. So obviously there is an electrical problem I’m guessing. I have bought multiple good headlights. That doesn’t seem to be such an issue anymore. Which leaves room for the ton of other things that are. My transmission fluid leaks and I drove it for a couple days with none in it at all, before ever realizing it. Also when I looked under my vehicle for the first time, when I learned from Google how to change the brakes. the tire rod was broken in half and there was some type of fluid or fluids I should say covering the whole undercarriage of my vehicle. I am pretty sure it’s more than one fluid because it’s all different colors and smells and its in different areas. Now that I have done 2 months of consistent research I have picked up on a lot of things and learned a lot of things about my vehicle(probably for no reason now!) i know that there is definitely something wrong with my transmission but I’m not sure if it’s the transmission control module or transmission speed sensor(which I changed that( one of the first things, but didnt make a difference). Or if it’s the transmission cooler or a shift solenoid or a transmission pump but it does sound a lot like the torque converter with how I feel when I am driving. It has every sign of a failing Torque converter except for the overheating. When I’m driving it sputters and shakes. Everytime it shifts it has a whinding sound that’s low and gets louder as I accelerate. It’s the same sound it makes when I start the vehicle in idle. The gears slip or when it changes gears it jolts so hard like your on an adult -amusement park ride, but not as much fun. The really really sad thing about that is when I took it to get serviced at a “ mechanics” home (that has a garage in his back yard) thinking I could save money. He broke two bolts off flush that we’re stuck, while taking the trans pan off, and he never told me but still let me pay him 600$ for that and a few other things he never fixed. (So I was robbed, pretty much, I guess you get what you pay for). So I had to pay to get them extracted. The garage did not extract them but torqued all of the other bolts and luckily when the “mechanic“ broke the bolts he didn’t put them in by the thread so they were able to torque them, but it only slowed the leak down. Didn’t do the trick of stopping it completely. Crappy part about that is the transmission fluid still leaks a tiny bit, but not as much as before they did it, when it leaked a lot. so I can’t tell the difference between the issues because it’s had fluctuated transmission fluid in it now for a while. But all of the problems were there before that happened. so It could have made it worse but it wasn’t the beginning issue of the transmission fluid being emptied out of the reservoir when I bought it. There was a new transmission filter put on but a flush was not done when he changed the filter. also my power steering fluid has been leaking since the day I received it as well and I also did not know that. So I have bought a new Power steering filter and pump. Along with a new fuel filter and spark plugs and wires because they look like they NEVER were changed. And also a new sway bar( roll bar) So that’s where I’m at. Today I actually flushed my power steering and will be putting the filter on tomorrow. (Yes me, the same girl that didn’t know how to change a tire 3 months ago when I bought it,lol). Please do not tell me to burn it or roll it into the river or anything like that because I absolutely do not have any other options of getting another vehicle without having to pay a ton of money in payments a month, and I’ve put everything I have into this , hoping the next thing I fixed would be the fix. And also I’ve already thought of every possible thing I could do to destroy this thing everytime I put another dime into it and it doesn’t fix the issue. I am a direct support professional (at home care aide ) for people with disabilities and my clients and I pretty much live in my car. I am some of their ONLY means to freedom and society outside of their home or facilities that they live. I also mentioned above I have 5 kids ranging from 15 to 2 and cant believe this “friend” would put my kids in danger knowing all the dangerous messed up shit this death contraption on wheels had to offer! Please, if anyone is even brave enough to read to the bottom of this chapter book I’ve wrote please give me something, anything to help me figure out what is wrong still. without having to take it to the junk yard to drop it off at its forever home or without having to put another dime into someone else’s hands just to get it back with more issues or just to get their opinion on what it is!
