Recently the interior lights do not come on when I open any door. They do come on via the dashboard switch. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks.

I believe it's the door sensor but someone might chime in how to check this...

Fuse checking your driver door (Your interior fuse box should have a fuse for a DDM or Driver Door)

The door switch is part of the door latch assembly inside the door. These are quite a common problem on most makes of vehicles now-a-days when the interior lights don't come on when the door is opened. Some times you can get away with soaking the latch with wd40 then open and close the door a few times, then repeat.

Bobbo, Did you ever get an answer on your 05 LeSabre interior lights not coming on when any of the doors are opened. Thanks, Tom

I learned that my 2005 will not turn on the dome lights when the door is opened during the day, but only when it's dark enough that it thinks they're needed.

Is it day or dark when you open your door(s)?

Check your owner's manual. The interior and door lights are controlled by the ambient light sensor. If it is light outside, they only turn on with the light switch. If they work when it is dark outside, everything is working properly.

Bottom line: they come on when they need to!
